No—not in the desktop-browser controls documented by Netflix. Netflix describes an in-player brightness slider for phones and tablets, not desktop browsers. On a computer, adjust the display brightness through Windows or your monitor’s controls instead.
Where to change brightness on a Windows computer
On Windows 10 or Windows 11, Microsoft lists two ways to adjust display brightness:

- Open Quick Settings from the taskbar and move the brightness slider.
- Go to Settings > System > Display and adjust the brightness control there.
Which controls appear depends on the computer and display. If Windows does not show a brightness slider while you use an external monitor, Microsoft’s instruction is: “To change the brightness on an external monitor, use the buttons on it.” Use the monitor’s physical buttons or its on-screen display controls if available; you do not need to replace a monitor just because Windows lacks a slider. Microsoft’s Windows brightness instructions cover these controls.

Netflix’s brightness slider is for phones and tablets
Netflix’s help instructions for a dark show or movie describe adjusting brightness during playback on a phone or tablet: tap the screen and move the brightness indicator. That is a device-specific player control, not a desktop-browser setting. For a TV, Netflix directs viewers to the TV maker or device manual for its brightness or HDR controls. Netflix’s guidance for shows or movies that look too dark distinguishes these device-specific options.

Is this a browser compatibility issue?
Netflix maintains a separate page listing supported browsers and system requirements, but it does not provide a desktop brightness procedure. Changing browsers or updating one therefore is not a documented way to add a Netflix brightness slider. Check Netflix’s supported browsers and system requirements for compatibility information, and use the computer or monitor’s display controls to change brightness.
