Nintendo’s general instructions explain how to start local multiplayer in eligible Nintendo Classics games; they do not confirm that Fighting Golf is one of them.
What the original game supports
The NES instruction manual documents two-player play. It assigns player one to controller one and player two to controller two, so the original game supports local competition on a single NES system. Lee Trevino’s Fighting Golf Instruction Manual
Can two people play it on one Nintendo Switch?
That is not confirmed by the available official information. Nintendo Support describes local multiplayer setup for eligible Nintendo Classics titles, but that general guidance does not establish that Fighting Golf is currently included in a Switch library. Do not treat the NES version’s two-player mode as proof of Switch availability.
How local multiplayer works in eligible Nintendo Classics games

#1 Best Overall
- Open the relevant Nintendo Classics app.
- Choose the single-system local multiplayer option.
- Select “Two Players.”
- Confirm the controller for each player.

What to check before trying to play
Look for Fighting Golf in the current official Nintendo Switch library or Classics app listing for your region. Unless it appears there, the supported NES multiplayer mode alone does not mean you can play it directly on Switch. The available information also does not establish a Switch edition, local wireless mode, or specific controller requirements for a Switch version.
