No. For Just Dance 2026 Edition, you do not need a separate camera or a paid Just Dance+ subscription to play. You can use a compatible smartphone’s camera with Ubisoft’s Just Dance Controller app for solo play, or use the controller option supported by your console. Just Dance+ is optional: it adds a streaming song catalog, and the game includes a limited-time trial.

Can you play Just Dance with your phone?
Yes. Install the Just Dance Controller app on a supported phone and use its camera for Camera Controller play. Ubisoft lists a minimum of iOS 14.4 or Android 9 for the app in its 2026 Edition announcement. The phone itself provides the camera tracking; a phone stand is optional for positioning, not a stated requirement.

Because Camera Controller is solo-only, it is not the choice for a group taking turns or dancing together. Controller options depend on the console: Ubisoft describes app-based motion-control and camera-controller options, as well as Switch controllers for Switch and Switch 2 owners. Do you need Just Dance+ to play Just Dance?
No. The 2026 Edition is the game; Just Dance+ is a separate subscription that adds access to a streaming catalog and seasonal benefits. What to know about the included trial
Ubisoft Help says the trial may be claimed once. Claiming it requires an internet connection, a platform account linked to a Ubisoft account, and the console set as the primary console for the platform account holding the game and subscription. Ubisoft also warns the subscription might renew automatically when the trial ends; cancellation is handled through the relevant platform store. Check the trial access and cancellation instructions before activating it.

Ubisoft lists the 2026 Edition for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Its product page also says it is playable on Nintendo Switch 2 through backward compatibility.
