YouTube does not publish a reliable benchmark for the share of viewers who subscribe specifically after finding a 24/7 stream, so the rate for that format is unknown.
What YouTube’s subscriber metric tells you
YouTube’s post-stream analytics define “New Subscribers” as the number of users who subscribed to your channel during the stream. That confirms subscriptions can happen during a live broadcast and gives a creator a count for a particular stream.

The count is not a conversion rate. YouTube reports other live metrics separately, including views, total watch time, peak concurrent viewers, average view duration and stream duration. New subscribers divided by views may be a calculation a creator chooses to make, but it is not automatically a viewer-to-subscriber rate: views are not necessarily unique people, and the figures do not by themselves establish that every subscription came from someone who watched the stream.
What is—and is not—known about 24/7 streams
What the available evidence establishes
- Viewers do subscribe during live streams, and YouTube provides a post-stream subscriber count.
- YouTube Analytics can be used to examine activity from subscribed and unsubscribed viewers and distinguish live from on-demand viewing.
- YouTube said that, on average, over 30% of daily logged-in viewers watched live content in Q2 2025. That is a platform-wide live-viewing reach statistic, not a subscription rate and not a finding about 24/7 streams.
What it does not establish
- There is no established typical percentage of 24/7-stream viewers who subscribe.
- The existence of YouTube’s subscriber metric does not mean that most viewers subscribe, or that any fixed share will do so.
- A 2025 paper describing more than 507,000 records from 12,156 streams collected in May and June 2024 examined concurrent viewers and broadcast durations; its abstract does not report subscription outcomes.
So the careful answer is that subscriptions happen, but how often viewers of a 24/7 stream subscribe is not established by these figures.

How to measure subscriptions on your own stream
Start with the post-stream report
- In YouTube Studio, open the stream’s video-level Analytics report after the broadcast.
- Record new subscribers alongside views, total watch time, average view duration, peak concurrent viewers and stream duration. Keep the figures tied to the same stream and reporting period.
- Compare streams over a defined period, noting differences in content and traffic sources as well as duration and viewing activity. These are useful comparison factors, not proof that any one factor causes subscriptions.
YouTube notes that Analytics data is processed and despammed, and that Analytics and Live Control Room can measure different information. Treat the post-stream report as an analytics snapshot, not as a perfect real-time account of every viewer action.
Use deeper audience reporting carefully
YouTube Analytics API playback reports provide dimensions for live versus on-demand viewing and subscribed versus unsubscribed viewers, alongside viewing metrics. This can help a channel owner examine who watched which type of content. It does not supply a representative subscription benchmark for 24/7 streams across YouTube.

Also check the attribution scope before interpreting subscriber gains. YouTube documents that a report filtered to a particular video counts subscriptions from that video’s watch page, while channel-level subscriber gains can include subscriptions from other YouTube locations. Do not describe a count as subscriptions caused by a stream unless the report’s scope and attribution window support that claim.

Does keeping the stream online change the answer?
A 24/7 schedule makes the stream available continuously; it does not, by itself, establish that viewers are more likely to subscribe. Measure the channel’s own results rather than inferring subscription behavior from how long a stream runs or how many concurrent viewers it attracts.
