No. The current .si Registry rules require accurate holder identity and contact details, but do not state that the address must be in Slovenia or that trademark documents are needed for routine registration. Some contact details are verified, and a registrar may request additional identity or address evidence if a risk review triggers it.
What information must a .si domain holder provide?
Register.si’s General Terms and Conditions, dated 15 November 2024, require holder identity and address information. The required address depends on the holder:

- Individual: permanent residence address.
- Organisation: registered office.
The terms do not make either address a Slovenian-local address requirement. An address is required, but that is different from having to establish local presence or eligibility in Slovenia.
Can a foreigner register a .si domain?
The cited Registry-wide rules do not state that a holder must live in Slovenia or have a Slovenian registered office. They specify the holder’s permanent residence or registered office without saying it must be in Slovenia. A chosen registrar may have its own signup workflow, so check that provider’s current requirements before ordering.

Register.si describes registrars as intermediaries between end users and the registry operator. A registrar’s requests should therefore be distinguished from the Registry’s stated baseline; the Registry rules alone do not establish that every registrar uses the same process.
Does registration require trademark documentation?
No routine trademark-documentation prerequisite appears in the cited .si Registry terms. Trademark rights can become relevant if a domain is challenged or a dispute arises, but that is separate from the ordinary act of registering a domain. The absence of a routine paperwork requirement does not mean that registration overrides another party’s rights.

Which contact details are verified, and when?
At registration and renewal, the registrar verifies at least one contact route: the holder’s or relevant contact point’s email address or telephone number. In cases flagged by risk analysis, a registrar may also verify identity and postal address—for example, by requesting identity documents or checking a business register. These are conditional checks, not a stated universal requirement to submit identity documents at signup.
The Registry’s policy on collection, verification, publication, and disclosure of domain-holder data allows up to 21 days to correct an unsuccessful contact verification. If risk-based identity or address proof is requested, an additional deadline of up to 21 days may apply. If verification remains unsuccessful, the domain may be deactivated or deleted.

For a natural-person holder, the public database shows only the contact email. More information may be disclosed for justified reasons, such as a legal-rights claim or a domain dispute. This is a rule about public disclosure, not a reduction in the information the holder must provide to the Registry.

What should you do before registering?
- Choose whether the holder will be an individual or an organisation, and prepare the relevant permanent residence or registered-office details.
- Use a working email address or telephone number that can be verified and monitored.
- Ask your selected registrar about its current signup steps, including whether it performs additional identity or address checks.
- Keep holder information accurate after registration. Register.si’s policy says: “The domain holder guarantees that the data in the database is accurate and up to date and undertakes to notify the registrar of any changes immediately”. The registered contact email is the official communication channel.
