The DJI Mini 5 Pro is rated for up to 36 minutes of flight with its standard Intelligent Flight Battery or up to 52 minutes with the Intelligent Flight Battery Plus. Those are DJI controlled-test maximums—not guaranteed time for a typical flight or a planned shot. Wind, use, environment and firmware can change the result, and DJI’s tests continued until a forced low-voltage landing.
How long does the DJI Mini 5 Pro battery last?
DJI publishes different maximums for the two compatible batteries. The test conditions also differed, so the figures are not a like-for-like comparison of how much longer Plus will last in ordinary flying.

Because the advertised test endpoint is a forced low-voltage landing, the full published duration is not a safe allowance for a planned flight. Leave time and battery capacity for the route back and landing rather than planning to use the maximum.

Standard Intelligent Flight Battery
The standard battery has a listed capacity of 2788 mAh and a DJI maximum of up to 36 minutes under the test conditions above. It is the option to consider if keeping the aircraft within the sub-249 g category is important to your use case; check the aircraft’s configuration and rules that apply where you fly.

Intelligent Flight Battery Plus
The Plus battery’s listed capacity is 4680 mAh and its DJI maximum is up to 52 minutes under its own test conditions. DJI warns that using it takes the aircraft above 249 g. Weight can affect which rules apply, so check local requirements before flying. Do not treat the difference between the two advertised maxima as a guaranteed 16-minute gain in real-world use.
How can you make a Mini 5 Pro battery last longer?
DJI does not publish a guaranteed everyday runtime or a tested list of settings that adds a specific number of minutes. The practical approach is to reduce avoidable demand and plan so the aircraft is not relying on the advertised maximum.

- Plan around conditions. Wind and the way you fly affect actual results; DJI also identifies environment, use and firmware as variables. Treat the maximum as a controlled-test figure, not a flight plan.
- Set a return and landing margin. DJI’s published test ends with a forced low-voltage landing. Choose a conservative point to turn back and land instead of using the full listed duration for filming.
- Start with a charged battery. DJI recommends fully charging the Intelligent Flight Battery before each use. Charging is supported through the aircraft’s USB-C port or the charging hub, not while the aircraft is powered on. See DJI’s Mini 5 Pro FAQ for charging guidance.
- Bring a compatible spare for a longer session. A spare lets you swap batteries between flights; it does not extend the time available from the battery currently in the aircraft.
Charging and storing Mini 5 Pro batteries
Charging before a flight
DJI gives an approximate charging time of 82 minutes for one battery using its 18W Charger. That is specific to this charger, not a general estimate for every power source. The Mini 5 Pro product listing also includes a Two-Way Charging Hub, which can help manage charging between flights; it prepares batteries for another flight rather than extending in-air runtime. Confirm the compatible model and regional listing on DJI’s Mini 5 Pro product page.
Automatic discharge during storage
When idle, DJI batteries automatically discharge to about 96% after three days and 60% after nine days. DJI says moderate heat during this process is normal. On the Mini 5 Pro, you cannot set when this automatic discharge begins. Check battery charge before heading out, even if the battery was stored with charge remaining. See DJI’s battery guidance.
