Divine Frequency, a surreal horror FPS-RPG from developer Abraxaes, is scheduled to launch in Early Access in October 2026. The dates currently conflict: Steam lists October 26, while PC Gamer reported October 27. Steam describes the initial release as roughly 70% of the planned game, spanning two of its three chapters.
When does Divine Frequency come out?
The Steam listing currently gives October 26, 2026 as the release date. PC Gamer’s October 6 report gives October 27, citing an announcement in a September 25 trailer. Because those sources disagree by one day, check the Steam listing for the date shown at the time you plan to buy or play.

Divine Frequency is developed and published by Abraxaes. Steam classifies it as a single-player Action, Adventure and Indie game, and lists a demo. Its store page is the official place to check availability and launch details.
What is included in Early Access?
Abraxaes’s Steam Early Access disclosure says the launch version contains about 70% of the planned full game: two of the planned three chapters. The developer says the eventual full version is intended to add the remaining campaign and further content, including enemies, bosses, builds and upgrades, music, story elements, fixes, and a Hardcore Mode. Those are plans, not guarantees of what will ship or when.

The Steam page labels the game a work in progress and estimates Early Access will last roughly a year, while allowing that delays could extend it to two years. These are the developer’s estimates, not a confirmed completion date. Steam also cautions that Early Access games are incomplete and can change.
How the loss of lead writer Pablo Lamprea affected development
In a March 29, 2026 Steam community update, Abraxaes said lead writer and lore-master Pablo “Artistical” Lamprea died in April 2025. The account describes Lamprea as a major contributor to the game’s worldbuilding and says he wrote most of its in-game dialogue, item descriptions, and notes and computer logs. This account of his role and the effect on development comes from the developer.
Abraxaes said it had planned to wait until a development build was ready before finalizing Act 2’s writing so Lamprea could play it. According to the update, that plan could not be carried out, and Act 2 was left without his intended writing contribution. The developer also said that some purchased sound libraries were found to contain stolen audio; replacing affected files contributed to delays. PC Gamer reported the audio issue while attributing the explanation to Abraxaes.
Play in Early Access or wait?
- Consider Early Access if you want to try the available two chapters as the game develops and are comfortable with unfinished content that may change.
- Consider waiting if you would rather play the complete three-chapter campaign or prefer a finished release. Abraxaes has not established a firm full-release date in the cited store disclosure.
Steam offers a demo, so readers can check the listing for a chance to try the game before deciding whether to buy into Early Access.
