U.S.A.’s former U.S. headquarters campus in Cypress, California, for a reported $115 million. A separate report calculates an implied value of $115.29 million from public-record transfer-tax information; that figure is not stated as a purchase price on the deed, according to the report.
Who bought Yamaha’s former headquarters?
The buyer was Walt Disney Parks and Resorts U.S. Inc., and the seller was Yamaha Motor Corp. U.S.A. The campus is at 6555 Katella Avenue in Cypress, Orange County. North OC Pulse reports that the sale closed on September 23, 2026, and quotes Yamaha spokesperson Martin Peters confirming: “I can confirm that the property is sold, and the transaction is complete.” North OC Pulse North OC Pulse
How much did Disney pay?
L.A. Business First reports the sale at $115 million. North OC Pulse gives a more precise $115.29 million implied value derived from public-record transfer-tax information, while reporting that the deed identifies the buyer and seller but does not state a separate purchase price. The two figures therefore should not be treated as competing deed-listed prices: $115 million is the reported sale figure, while $115.29 million is an implied calculation. L.A. What is on the Cypress campus?
L.A. Business First describes the property as a 25-acre campus with approximately 279,000 square feet of industrial, flex, and office buildings. It occupies an entire city block, with access from Katella Avenue, Holder Street, and Yamaha Way. Avison Young broker Paul Clark characterized the location’s appeal this way: “It’s extremely difficult to find 25 contiguous acres of by-right industrial land in a core infill location in Southern California, particularly with substantial improvements already in place.” That is the broker’s assessment of the site’s market appeal, not a broader market statistic. When will Yamaha leave?
Yamaha had used the Cypress campus as its U.S. headquarters since 1979. The company announced plans to move its headquarters functions to Kennesaw, Georgia; earlier coverage said it intended a sale-leaseback that would let operations continue during the transition. Yamaha is reported to lease the property back through December 31, 2028. L.A. Business First Relocation coverage Leaseback report
What will Disney use the property for?
L.A. Business First reports, attributing the information to the Orange County Register, that Disney plans to use the campus for “back-of-house operations.” No direct Disney statement confirming that intended use was located, and the separate public-record report says the deed does not specify Disney’s plans. The use should therefore be treated as reported, not as a publicly confirmed Disney announcement. L.A. Business First North OC Pulse
