The Dimensity 9300 and Google Tensor G6 use different CPU, graphics and AI hardware, but the available evidence does not establish a controlled head-to-head winner. MediaTek publishes official Dimensity 9300 specifications; Tensor G6 details come from secondary reporting. Notebookcheck’s Geekbench 6.7 entries place one Tensor G6 phone sample near its Dimensity 9300 listing in multi-core performance, but those database results are not a matched test.
How the two chips differ on paper
MediaTek’s official Dimensity 9300 specification page describes an eight-core CPU built from four Arm Cortex-X4 cores running at up to 3.25 GHz and four Cortex-A720 cores running at up to 2.0 GHz. Android Central’s August 17, 2026 report describes Tensor G6 as a seven-core design: one C1-Ultra and six C1-Pro cores in a 1+4+2 arrangement. That Tensor configuration is secondary reporting, not a Google-confirmed specification.

| Security | Secure Processor, hardware root of trust and Arm MTE, per MediaTek | Titan M3 security co-processor, per Android Central |
Process node, core count and component names alone do not establish which phone will be faster, last longer on a charge or run a game more smoothly. Device-level performance also depends on implementation, cooling, software and workload. The security feature descriptions above are not a comparative security audit.

What the Geekbench 6.7 entries show
Notebookcheck’s benchmark/reference page, accessed October 7, 2026, lists these scores for a Tensor G6 entry identified as a Pixel 11 Pro XL: 2,687 single-core points and 7,220 multi-core points. Its comparison table lists 7,408 multi-core points for the Dimensity 9300.

- YOUR CONTENT, SUPER SMOOTH: The ultra-clear 6.7" FHD+ Super AMOLED display of Galaxy A17 5G helps bring your content to life, whether you're scrolling through recipes or video chatting with loved ones.¹
- LIVE FAST. CHARGE FASTER: Focus more on the moment and less on your battery percentage with Galaxy A17 5G. Super Fast Charging powers up your battery so you can get back to life sooner.²
- MEMORIES MADE PICTURE PERFECT: Capture every angle in stunning clarity, from wide family photos to close-ups of friends, with the triple-lens camera on Galaxy A17 5G.
- NEED MORE STORAGE? WE HAVE YOU COVERED: With an improved 2TB of expandable storage, Galaxy A17 5G makes it easy to keep cherished photos, videos and important files readily accessible whenever you need them.³
- BUILT TO LAST: With an improved IP54 rating, Galaxy A17 5G is even more durable than before.⁴ It’s built to resist splashes and dust and comes with a stronger yet slimmer Gorilla Glass Victus front and Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer back.
- The listed Tensor G6 sample is in a similar multi-core score range to the Dimensity 9300 entry in that database.
- The entries do not establish a matched-device test, identical thermal conditions, a repeated protocol or performance across a broad set of workloads.
- The evidence cited here does not establish a Dimensity 9300 single-core score for a like-for-like comparison.
These are database samples, not a controlled shootout. A small difference between two entries is not enough to declare a universal performance winner. A stronger comparison would test actual phones under comparable conditions across sustained CPU loads, graphics workloads and power consumption.
Graphics, power and gaming: what is and is not established
MediaTek’s Dimensity 9300 launch announcement, dated November 6, 2023, says the chip delivered a “nearly 46% boost in GPU performance” at the same power and a “40% reduction in GPU power consumption” at the same performance compared with the Dimensity 9200. These are MediaTek’s claims about its own generational comparison—not independent measurements and not a comparison with Tensor G6.

- Carrier: This phone is locked to Tracfone, which means this device can only be used on the Tracfone wireless network. Tracfone plan required, activating is easy, just 3 steps.
- DISPLAY: Immersive viewing on a 6.7-inch super-bright 120Hz display with powerful stereo speakers and Bass Boost for cinematic entertainment.
- CAMERA SYSTEM: Advanced 50MP Quad Pixel camera captures sharp, detailed photos and videos in any lighting condition
- PERFORMANCE: Lightning-fast 5G connectivity paired with a powerful processor and RAM Boost for smooth multitasking.
- BATTERY LIFE: Long-lasting 5000mAh battery with TurboPower charging technology delivers hours of power in minutes.
The published GPU names do not settle which chip provides better gaming. The available benchmark entries do not supply a controlled graphics comparison, and a phone’s cooling and sustained power behavior can affect performance during longer play sessions.
AI, memory and connectivity depend on more than the chip name
AI workloads
MediaTek identifies the Dimensity 9300’s APU 790 and describes generative-AI capabilities. Android Central reports a fifth-generation Tensor Processing Unit in Tensor G6. These are different hardware and software ecosystems; their names and generations do not show which one performs better on a particular on-device AI task. That requires testing the same task on specific devices and software.

Memory and storage
MediaTek specifies LPDDR5T memory at up to 9600 Mbps and UFS 4 storage with MCQ for the Dimensity 9300. Android Central reports LPDDR5X for Tensor G6 but does not state its storage configuration. Phone makers’ configurations matter, so the processor-level information alone is not a complete comparison of two phones’ memory or storage.
Wireless and security features
MediaTek lists Wi-Fi 7 and support for sub-6 GHz and mmWave 5G on the Dimensity 9300. Android Central reports a MediaTek M90 modem for Tensor G6. Neither listing guarantees the same experience across phones: supported bands, carrier compatibility, antenna design and regional variants can differ. MediaTek also lists a Secure Processor, hardware root of trust and Arm MTE, while Android Central reports a Titan M3 security co-processor for Tensor G6; these feature summaries do not assess real-world security comparatively.

Which one should you choose?
Choose based on the specific phone and the work you care about, rather than treating either chip’s specification list as a verdict. Android Central identifies the Pixel 11 Pro XL as a Tensor G6 phone, but one model does not represent every possible implementation of that chip. For a purchase decision, compare the actual devices’ cooling, software, camera features, network support, price and support period alongside independent tests for your workloads.
