The difference is substantial in those results, but the scores are not a controlled test of equivalent retail phones. For a buying decision, compare the exact handsets as well as their chips.
How the two chipsets differ
MediaTek describes the Dimensity 9300+ as a flagship smartphone platform. The Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 belongs to Qualcomm’s 7-series. That positioning and their specifications put them in different platform tiers, but they do not guarantee that every phone using the Dimensity will beat every Snapdragon phone in every sustained task.

The CPU layouts illustrate the gap in design and clock speeds. MediaTek lists four Cortex-X4 cores split across two maximum clock speeds, alongside four Cortex-A720 cores. Qualcomm’s product brief describes a prime, performance, and efficiency core arrangement with lower listed maximum speeds.

These are manufacturer-listed platform capabilities and support ceilings, not a list of features guaranteed in every phone. A handset maker may implement fewer capabilities or configure them differently. Check the specifications for the exact device before relying on a particular memory type, camera mode, or connectivity feature. Reported benchmark comparison
NanoReview’s comparison page reports higher Dimensity 9300+ scores in the listed AnTuTu 10 and Geekbench 6 results. These are third-party page-reported figures, not results from a controlled protocol established in the cited material. They should be read as a comparison snapshot, not as scores every phone with either chip will reproduce.
| Benchmark | Dimensity 9300+ | Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 |
|---|---|---|
| AnTuTu 10 | 2,100,510 | 854,884 |
| Geekbench 6 single-core | 2,302 | 1,214 |

All values in the table are reported by NanoReview’s comparison page (accessed 2026). The page does not provide a Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 3DMark Wild Life score, so that row does not establish a head-to-head result for that test. The figures alone also cannot establish battery life, temperatures, or performance in a particular game or phone.

What benchmark results can and cannot tell you
Benchmarks help indicate peak or short-run compute capability under the conditions behind a result. The higher scores here support the conclusion that the Dimensity 9300+ has more reported benchmark performance in these comparisons. They do not show how long either phone can sustain a workload, how hot it gets, or how much battery it uses.

A fast chip may be paired with a design that limits sustained output; conversely, a well-cooled phone may hold performance longer. No equivalent-phone study in the cited material establishes a general thermal, sustained-gaming, or battery winner between these two chips.

How to choose between phones using these chips
If you are choosing a handset, use the chipset as one input rather than a substitute for comparing the devices. Check evidence for the exact models you are considering:
- Long-session performance: look for sustained CPU and GPU testing of the actual phone, including performance after it warms up.
- Battery life: compare measured endurance under a workload similar to yours, not a conclusion inferred from the processor name.
- Display: consider resolution, refresh rate, brightness, and power use, all of which affect the phone experience and battery demand.
- Cameras: compare sensor hardware and image processing. A chipset’s megapixel ceiling does not determine the quality of the finished photos.
- Connectivity: verify the phone’s supported bands and compatibility with your region and carrier; platform-level 5G support alone does not confirm local compatibility.
- Configuration and support: compare RAM, storage, software-update policy, and price for the specific models.
