On paper, the Dimensity 9000 is the newer design, and NanoReview’s displayed AnTuTu 11 aggregate is higher for it. That aggregate is not a matched-phone test, however, so it cannot establish how much faster one chip will be in a particular phone. The Dimensity 9000 pairs newer Arm CPU cores with a TSMC N4 process and Mali-G710 MC10 graphics; Snapdragon 888 uses Qualcomm’s Kryo 680 CPU, a 5 nm process and Adreno 660 graphics. The phone’s cooling, memory, software and configuration still matter.
Dimensity 9000 vs Snapdragon 888 specifications
The chips differ in CPU architecture, manufacturing process and GPU. Manufacturer specifications describe what each platform supports; they do not guarantee that every phone using the chip implements every listed feature.

The available comparison supports a qualified answer: the Dimensity 9000 leads in NanoReview’s displayed AnTuTu 11 aggregate, but that result does not prove it will outperform every Snapdragon 888 phone or workload. The chips have different CPU core designs, and a peak clock alone is not a reliable way to predict performance.

NanoReview’s comparison page, accessed in 2026, displays AnTuTu 11 totals of 1,504,467 for Dimensity 9000 (14 samples) and 1,135,878 for Snapdragon 888 (127 samples). These are the site’s aggregate figures, not results from a controlled test of two matched phones. The sample counts are also uneven; the displayed comparison does not establish identical cooling, software, memory or test conditions across samples. See NanoReview’s Dimensity 9000 vs Snapdragon 888 comparison.
That makes the figures useful as an indicative comparison, not a promise of a particular score or percentage advantage on a phone you buy. Nor do they directly predict game frame rates, long-session performance or results in other applications.

Why phone-specific results can differ
A processor runs inside a complete handset. Cooling design, power limits, software, memory configuration and the benchmark version can all affect a result, so measurements from different phone models cannot isolate the chip’s contribution.

What the specification differences mean in practice
CPU: newer core arrangement, not a guaranteed app-speed multiplier
MediaTek lists one Cortex-X2 performance core, three Cortex-A710 cores and four Cortex-A510 cores for the Dimensity 9000. Qualcomm lists the Snapdragon 888’s Kryo 680 CPU with a maximum clock of 2.84 GHz. Because the core designs differ, comparing only that peak clock with the Dimensity’s 3.05 GHz maximum would miss important architectural and handset-level factors.
Graphics: GPU names do not settle gaming performance
The Dimensity 9000 uses Arm Mali-G710 MC10, while the Snapdragon 888 uses Adreno 660. Those names identify different graphics platforms, but they do not establish frame rates, sustained performance or compatibility for a particular game. For gaming, look for results from the exact phone model under a named workload and test duration.

Process and memory: platform support is not a full-device specification
MediaTek describes the Dimensity 9000 as using TSMC N4, a 4 nm-class process, and lists LPDDR5X support up to 7500 Mbps. Qualcomm identifies the Snapdragon 888 as a 5 nm chip. The surfaced Qualcomm product information does not provide a directly comparable memory figure, so a complete memory-speed comparison cannot be made from these specifications alone. A phone’s actual memory configuration also depends on its manufacturer.
Connectivity and camera features depend on the phone
MediaTek lists Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 among the Dimensity 9000’s capabilities. Qualcomm lists the Snapdragon 888’s X60 5G modem-RF, Wi-Fi 6 and Spectra 580 ISP. These platform features do not tell you which 5G bands, camera hardware or wireless features a regional phone model actually supports.

How to compare two phones using these chips
If you are choosing between actual devices, compare the handsets as well as their processors. For a useful performance comparison, find results that match the benchmark version and disclose the phone model, software, memory configuration and test conditions.
- Check the exact model and region. Phones with the same chip can have different network bands and hardware configurations by market.
- Compare sustained performance, not only a peak score. A long gaming session can expose thermal or power limits that a short benchmark run does not.
- Look at the rest of the phone. Battery health, cooling, display, camera quality, software support, warranty and current price can matter more to your decision than the chip-level aggregate.
MediaTek says the Dimensity 9000 uses “the latest Armv9 architecture processors to deliver unparalleled performance.” That is the manufacturer’s promotional description, not an independent test result. MediaTek’s product page.
