There is not enough model-specific evidence to confirm that the Galaxy A16 5G has received a second One UI 9 beta. A September 28 report said the beta had opened for the phone in India, but the rollout tracker reviewed lists second-beta status for other models—not the A16 5G.
What is confirmed about the A16 5G beta?
Samsung announced on September 1, 2026, that the One UI 9 beta program would expand to more Galaxy devices starting that month. Its announcement does not name the Galaxy A16 5G or confirm a second beta for it. Samsung’s beta expansion announcement therefore establishes a broader program, not an A16-specific release.

On September 28, SammyGuru reported that public beta testing had opened for the Galaxy A16 5G in India and identified build ZZIE. That is a report of beta availability in India; it is not confirmation of a second A16 beta or a global release. The report does not establish availability for every market or device variant.
The SammyGuru rollout tracker lists the A16 5G as in beta in India, while assigning second-beta status to the A15 5G and A07 5G. It does not list the A16 5G as having received a second beta. A second beta for another phone should not be treated as an A16 update.

Does Samsung’s September 30 update record show the beta?
No. Samsung’s U.S. software history for model SM-A166U lists build A166USQSADZI2 as an Android 16 update released September 30, 2026. The entry does not identify the update as a One UI 9 beta. Samsung’s SM-A166U update history is a separate record from the India beta report.
Samsung announced on September 16 that the broader One UI 9 rollout was beginning with Galaxy S26 models. That announcement does not establish A16 beta eligibility either. Samsung’s rollout announcement notes that availability can vary by country, region, language, device model, and OS or One UI version.

How to check your own Galaxy A16 5G
- Open Samsung Members on the phone and look for a One UI beta enrollment notice. Its presence depends on whether the program is offered for your location and device.
- Open Settings → Software update → Download and install to check for updates available to your phone.
- Check the model and region details for your device before comparing its update with reports from India or Samsung’s U.S. update history.
These checks show what Samsung makes available to that device; the cited reports do not establish current beta availability for every country, carrier variant, or A16 5G owner.
