Which Polaroid camera is the headline about?
It is the Polaroid Now+ Generation 3, announced on March 4, 2025. Polaroid describes it as “unlocking new creative possibilities” when paired with the Polaroid app. That is the manufacturer’s positioning, not independent proof that it is more creative than every competing instant camera. What makes the Now+ Generation 3 creative?
App-based controls
Pairing the camera with the Polaroid app unlocks aperture priority, manual mode, double exposure, a self-timer and remote controls. These let you change how a shot is made or trigger it without pressing the camera’s shutter directly. The extended controls are tied to the app; the documented features should not be read as proof that every mode is available from the camera alone.

Double exposure combines multiple exposures on one instant photo, allowing one frame to show overlapping scenes. Polaroid Support describes three ways to use the feature: enable it with the camera’s self-timer button, select double exposure in the app and use the app shutter, or use manual mode to select two or more exposures before ejecting the photo. The instructions were updated May 12, 2023, before Generation 3, so check the current camera and app controls if the steps do not match your setup. Polaroid’s double-exposure instructions.

Hands-free framing and physical filters
The camera has a tripod mount, which can help with steadier or hands-free framing, and its app remote controls can trigger a shot from a distance. For an in-camera physical effect, Polaroid sells a Now & Now+ Filter Set with starburst, red vignette, orange, blue and yellow filters, plus a lens cap. The filters are optional accessories, not built-in digital effects.
What film does it use, and what are the specifications?
The Now+ Generation 3 shoots full-size Polaroid film and is listed as compatible with both i-Type and 600 film. The following figures are Polaroid US product specifications, not independent measurements:

Polaroid’s March 4, 2025 launch announcement says the camera is made with 40% recycled materials. Treat that as the manufacturer’s materials claim, not an independent sustainability assessment.

Generation matters. Polaroid lists the filter set as compatible with Now Generation 3 and Now+ generations 1, 2 and 3. It explicitly says the set does not fit Now Generation 1 or Generation 2. Check the exact model before buying; “Now” and “Now+” are not interchangeable when it comes to this accessory.

Is it the most creative instant camera?
That depends on what “creative” means to you. The Now+ Generation 3 has a documented combination of app-connected manual and aperture-priority controls, double exposure, remote shooting and a tripod mount. Those features give it substantial flexibility for deliberate, hands-on instant photography.
But the cited product information does not compare it with every instant camera, provide independent head-to-head test results, or establish that its image quality is superior. A defensible conclusion is that it is a highly configurable Polaroid instant camera—not a proven market-wide “most creative” champion.
