Dia’s macOS version 1.51.0, dated October 1, 2026, adds queued follow-up messages and controls for steering an active chat response, alongside tab-navigation changes and new Loom tools. The release also lists HEIC image support in chat, expanded Notion reading, and a Chromium M155 engine upgrade.
What Queue and Steering controls change
Dia says users can queue multiple chat messages and steer Dia while it is responding, without cancelling tool calls already in progress. In practical terms, follow-up prompts can be lined up instead of sent one at a time, and a user can redirect a response without stopping those ongoing calls. These are behaviors described in Dia’s release notes; the notes provide no controlled measurements or independent evaluation.

The previous macOS release, v1.50.0, dated September 24, 2026, highlighted controls to stop and resume AI responses, as well as search across past chats and browsing history and Figma tools. The newer release’s stated chat addition is queueing and steering during a response. Dia’s v1.50.0 macOS changelog

How tab switching changes
The tab switcher now displays five tabs rather than ten. That reduces the number visible in the switcher at once, while pinned tabs are now included in Tab Search. Dia also says the recent-tabs switcher has a layout intended to feel familiar to Arc users. For automatically generated Tab Groups, an option replaces emoji with simpler icons.

- Window and profile handling: The update lists improved window resizing and profile-swiping improvements.
- Developer tools and Slack: Dia lists developer-tool shortcuts, a fix for closed Dev Tools windows consuming background resources, and a fix for enterprise Slack domain links.
Browser engine and release scope
Dia identifies Chromium M155 as the browser-engine upgrade in this release. The changelog does not describe upstream changes in detail, so the version number alone does not establish which specific security fixes or other Chromium changes are included. Version 1.51.0 is the macOS release documented on October 1, 2026; its notes should not be read as confirmation that the same changes apply to every Dia platform. Dia’s v1.51.0 macOS changelog
