DeepSeek Harness (dsh) is an agent harness: software that connects a model to tools and an environment, manages state, and provides a way for work to continue across steps. DeepSeek describes the model as the reasoning engine and the harness as the surrounding system that lets it act. The harness is not itself a model. What does “everything is a plugin” mean?
DeepSeek applies the plugin boundary broadly. The model connection and capabilities such as tools, skills, sessions, sandboxes, storage, execution loops, scheduling, and the user interface are supplied through plugins. Instead of treating those pieces as fixed parts of one implementation, Harness can compose them as capabilities.
In practical terms, a developer can focus on a boundary—such as a model adapter, tool, session system, sandbox, or interface—and configure it alongside other components. DeepSeek says developers can select, swap, or extend capabilities without changing Harness source code. That makes configuration an extension point; it does not, by itself, establish that every plugin works with every other plugin or preview version.

What does Cordis do?
Cordis is the kernel that coordinates plugin composition. According to DeepSeek, it manages mounting and unmounting plugins and their dependencies. Services and events let plugins work together. That coordination matters because a plugin-based design needs more than independent components: the system must also manage how they are loaded and communicate.
When considering a configuration, identify which plugin provides each capability, what dependencies it declares, and whether it is compatible with the Harness version in use. These are practical questions prompted by the architecture, not claims that DeepSeek has published a compatibility guarantee for every combination.

How does run inspection work?
DeepSeek describes an append-only session log that records system prompts, reasoning, tool calls and results, subagent scheduling, and context injections. Its Trajectory view is described as a way to inspect records by source; resume, fork, search, and replay operate on the event stream. These are vendor-described features. The available official descriptions do not independently establish what is retained in every case, how long records are kept, or whether every run can be fully reconstructed in practice.

The official DeepSeek Harness repository documents launching the web UI with Node.js and npx @deepseek-ai/dsh web, as well as installing and building from a source checkout.
