DapuStor lists H5300 and H5100 configurations in U.2, E1.S and E3.S formats, with capacity, endurance and performance varying by model and SKU. The company said the series was available and had passed Intel VROC 8.0 certification in an announcement dated December 14, 2023; that statement does not qualify every drive for every server or operating-system release.
What the Haishen5 family is
DapuStor describes Haishen5 as an enterprise SSD family built around a Marvell Bravera PCIe Gen5 controller, 3D eTLC NAND flash and DapuStor firmware. The H5300 product page specifies PCIe 5.0 x4 and NVMe 2.0. Those are manufacturer-published product details, not results from independent testing.

DapuStor positions the drives for data-center workloads in areas including AI, IT, finance, telecommunications and smart manufacturing. The intended market matters: capacity, endurance, host-bay fit and platform validation are more useful selection criteria than treating the series as a general-purpose desktop upgrade.

Models, form factors and capacities
DapuStor lists Haishen5 drives in three enterprise form factors. The physical dimensions below are the listed drive thicknesses; the compatible server bay and backplane still need to match the particular SKU.
#1 Best Overall
- Optimized for Mixed-Use Workloads – Ideal for read/write-balanced applications in enterprise environments.
- Enterprise-Grade Reliability – Built for consistent performance and endurance in 24/7 server operations.
- Power Loss Protection (PLP) – Helps safeguard data integrity during unexpected power outages.
| Form factor | Listed thickness | Capacity information |
|---|---|---|
| U.2 | 15 mm | H5300 configurations contribute to the listed family range of 3.2 TB to 25.6 TB; the H5100 U.2 datasheet includes variants up to 30.72 TB. |
| E1.S | 9.5 mm | H5300 capacities vary by configuration; DapuStor’s H5300 page lists capacities within its 3.2 TB to 25.6 TB range. |
| E3.S | 7.5 mm | H5300 capacities vary by configuration; DapuStor’s H5300 page lists capacities within its 3.2 TB to 25.6 TB range. |
The overall capacity figures refer to different model and form-factor configurations, not one drive that can be ordered in every listed size. In particular, the H5100 U.2 maximum of 30.72 TB is not the H5300 page’s maximum. Confirm the exact model, SKU, capacity and physical format against the relevant DapuStor datasheet before specifying a system.
What DapuStor claims for performance
DapuStor’s H5300 product specification page, accessed in 2026, lists maximums across configurations. They are vendor specifications, not independently measured benchmark results.
| H5300 specification | DapuStor-listed maximum or range |
|---|---|
| Sequential read bandwidth | Up to 14,000 MB/s |
| Sequential write bandwidth | Up to 9,500 MB/s |
| 4K random-read performance | Up to 2,800K IOPS |
| 4K random-write performance | Up to 800K IOPS |
| Typical random read/write latency | Approximately 54–56/8 μs, varying by configuration |
These maxima should not be read as simultaneous results for every H5300 SKU. DapuStor’s datasheet cautions that hardware, software and configuration differences affect actual test results. For a procurement comparison, request the precise SKU’s specification and test conditions, then evaluate it on the intended host, firmware and workload. A headline maximum alone does not establish application performance.

Endurance, power and data-protection features
DapuStor’s English U.2 datasheet lists five-year warranty coverage, endurance classes of 1 DWPD and 3 DWPD, and a 2.5-million-hour MTBF. Its H5300 product page lists 3 DWPD and a 2.5-million-hour MTBF. These are manufacturer-published figures; the endurance class and warranty terms should be checked against the particular model and SKU rather than assumed for the entire family.
In a 2024 SC24 event report, DapuStor stated that typical power consumption could be as low as 17 W. This is a vendor-reported typical figure, not a guarantee of the draw of every capacity or form factor under every workload. Check the applicable drive specification and server power and cooling limits when planning a deployment.
DapuStor’s datasheet lists end-to-end data protection, DST, Sanitize, Secure Boot and TCG OPAL 2.0. It also lists NVMe 2.0, NVMe MI 1.1, Multi-Stream and Flexible Data Placement support, and says features can be customized for customer requirements. These feature listings are the manufacturer’s claims; they do not, by themselves, constitute independent security validation or establish that every customized feature is enabled in a given SKU.

In an announcement dated December 14, 2023, DapuStor said Haishen5 completed joint testing with Intel VMD/VROC and passed Intel VROC 8.0 certification. The same announcement described H5100 as compatible with Linux, Windows, Hyper-V and VMware ESXi, and said it had Red Hat OS and Windows OS certifications.

This is a dated manufacturer statement, not a blanket compatibility guarantee. Before purchase or deployment, confirm the exact drive SKU, server platform, firmware, operating-system release and VROC/VMD configuration against current documentation from the relevant vendors. A certification or compatibility claim for H5100 should not automatically be applied to every Haishen5 model.
Availability and choosing a configuration
DapuStor said Haishen5 was available for purchase in its December 14, 2023 announcement. That establishes the company’s availability statement at that time, not current inventory, regional distribution or a present-day retail listing.
For a server build or replacement, compare configurations on the criteria that affect the actual deployment:
- Model and SKU: distinguish H5100 from H5300 and verify that the quoted performance, endurance and capacity belong to the exact part number.
- Bay and backplane: match U.2, E1.S or E3.S and the listed thickness to the server’s supported drive bay and cabling.
- Capacity and workload: choose a listed capacity for the required data set, then assess sequential bandwidth or random I/O against the workload’s needs.
- Write intensity: select the documented endurance class appropriate to expected writes; do not infer a class for one model from another model’s datasheet.
- Power and cooling: verify the SKU’s specifications against host limits rather than treating the reported 17 W typical figure as a universal maximum.
- Platform qualification: validate the exact host, OS, firmware and management configuration with current vendor compatibility documentation.
DapuStor’s published specifications provide a starting point for shortlisting, but they do not supply independent head-to-head results. Compare like with like—same capacity class, form factor, test conditions and workload—before using headline figures to make a performance decision.
