How do Class Trials work in Danganronpa 2?
The trial turns the investigation’s clues and accounts into an argument about what happened. Listen to each claim, compare it with the evidence you have collected, and challenge a statement when a clue contradicts it. The aim is not to fire evidence at every line: identify the specific point that conflicts with a specific piece of evidence.

The game also includes trial minigames and Rebuttal Showdowns, so expect the interaction to change from one segment to another. How do I use Truth Bullets?
During a debate, watch the statements as they appear and decide whether one conflicts with a clue. Select the Truth Bullet that directly addresses that contradiction, then use the trial’s firing action on the relevant statement. A good match explains why the claim cannot be true; a loosely related clue may not be enough.

- Read the statement carefully. Pinpoint the detail that matters rather than reacting to the whole argument.
- Recall or review the evidence. Find the Truth Bullet that bears directly on that detail.
- Target the contradiction. Use the firing action on the statement the evidence refutes, following the on-screen prompt.
- Adjust if the interaction changes. Other segments may use different timing, targeting, or puzzle patterns; read their prompts instead of assuming every challenge works like a debate.
Control labels vary by platform. A GameFAQs walkthrough documents one mapping for the PlayStation Vita version: aiming with the left analogue stick or directional pad, selecting a Truth Bullet with the left bumper, firing with Triangle or by tapping a statement, and concentrating with the right bumper. Do not treat those as universal controls for Switch, Xbox, PC, iOS, or Android. Check the in-game Help for the actions and buttons on your version. What do I do in a Rebuttal Showdown?
A Rebuttal Showdown is a one-on-one argument challenge, not simply another standard debate. Use the prompted counter actions to answer the opponent’s points, then use a Truth Blade when the game calls for it. Pay attention to which action the current exchange requests; the sequence can involve more than selecting a piece of evidence.

For Vita, the same walkthrough maps slash actions to directional input, overturn to X, and Truth Blade firing to Triangle or tapping the statement. Those inputs are specific to that version. On other platforms, rely on the game’s control prompts and Help rather than transferring Vita button names.

How can I make trials easier?
Prepare before proceeding
The Vita walkthrough describes a preparation phase in which players can review Truth Bullets, purchase or equip skills, change difficulty, or begin the trial. If you are struggling, it recommends considering skills that give you more time, restore the Influence Gauge, or improve shots. Menu names and available options can differ by platform, so verify them in your game.

Use mistakes to refine your approach
If a shot fails, reconsider whether you matched the right evidence to the exact statement rather than repeating the same choice. In timing-based or reflex segments, focus on the current prompt and the rhythm of that interaction; evidence selection is not the answer to every trial minigame.
Retry if needed
The walkthrough says a trial can be redone from the main menu in the Vita version. If you want to retry, check your platform’s menus for the equivalent option rather than assuming the same route or label applies everywhere.

How can I avoid spoilers while getting help?
Online walkthroughs can reveal culprit identities, chapter solutions, and later plot developments. VIZ cautions readers about spoilers, and the GameFAQs walkthrough notes that a complete guide cannot be entirely spoiler-free. For a mechanics question, search for the specific interaction—such as Truth Bullets or Rebuttal Showdowns—and avoid chapter solution pages, video thumbnails, comments, and walkthrough sections beyond your current progress.
The trial’s outcome has story consequences: the class debates who committed the murder, and the result determines who is punished. VIZ’s overview also notes that the game combines shooting-based Truth Bullet arguments with puzzle segments and substantial reading.
