That is 2.1% below the 497,099 delivered in Q3 2025, but above the 480,126 delivered in Q2 2026 and roughly 25,000 higher than the 461,974 analyst consensus cited by Electrek. Tesla still does not disclose a standalone Cybertruck total, so its latest release cannot prove that Cybertruck sales are continuing to collapse.
What Tesla actually reported for Q3 2026
Tesla’s delivery release divides vehicles into two reporting groups. Model 3 and Model Y accounted for 478,237 deliveries. “Other Models” accounted for 8,295. That second group includes Cybertruck, Semi and any Model S or Model X deliveries; Tesla does not say how many of those 8,295 vehicles were Cybertrucks.

Tesla describes these delivery numbers as passenger vehicles sold to customers. They are global company figures, not a regional Cybertruck tally.
How many Cybertrucks did Tesla sell?
There is no reliable worldwide Cybertruck number in Tesla’s Q3 2026 release. Assigning all 8,295 “Other Models” deliveries to the truck would overstate Cybertruck sales because the category combines several vehicles.

The same disclosure problem affects comparisons with earlier quarters. Tesla’s Q2 2026 filing lists 12,364 Other Models deliveries in Q2 2026 and 15,933 in Q3 2025, but neither number identifies Cybertruck volume. Those figures can show the size of the reporting bucket, not the truck’s demand by itself.
Where the “free fall” claim comes from
The sharp decline figure available in the cited coverage is an estimate for the United States in Q3 2025, not a Tesla-reported result for Q3 2026. InsideEVs reported a Cox Automotive estimate of 5,385 US Cybertruck sales in Q3 2025, down 62.6% year over year.

That estimate placed Cybertruck second among US electric pickups for the quarter, behind Ford’s F-150 Lightning. It should not be converted into a global delivery count or treated as proof of Tesla’s current-quarter performance.
US market context in Q3 2025
Cox Automotive counted 438,487 electric-vehicle sales in the United States in Q3 2025, a 29.6% year-over-year increase. Tesla’s estimated US EV share fell to 41%, from 49% in Q3 2024, even though Cox said Tesla’s own US sales rose 8% year over year during that quarter. The figures show why a weakening share or a weak Cybertruck estimate cannot automatically be described as a fall in every Tesla sales measure.

Why the Q3 headline is only partly “mediocre”
The characterization depends on the comparison. Tesla’s 486,532 deliveries were below the prior year, which is a negative year-over-year result. Sequentially, however, deliveries improved by 6,406 vehicles from Q2 2026. They also exceeded the analyst consensus reported by Electrek.
Deliveries alone do not establish Tesla’s revenue, gross margin, operating income or net income. Average selling prices, incentives, product mix and cost of sales can change the financial outcome even when delivery volume moves in the same direction. Tesla scheduled its Q3 financial results and webcast for October 21, 2026.

What inventory listings can—and cannot—show
An inventory monitor recorded Tesla-listed Cybertrucks falling from 146 to 25 between September 13 and September 30, 2026. That count included both new and used listings. A listing disappearing does not establish that a vehicle was sold: listings can be removed, transferred, edited or otherwise change status, and Tesla does not state why an individual listing disappears.
Consequently, the inventory change is an indication of listed stock at that monitor, not confirmed deliveries and not a substitute for a Tesla model-level sales report.

What can be concluded now
- Tesla’s global Q3 2026 deliveries declined year over year but increased from Q2 2026.
- The company beat the analyst consensus quoted by Electrek.
- Tesla reported 8,295 deliveries in a combined “Other Models” category, not a Cybertruck total.
- The 62.6% decline is a Cox Automotive estimate for US Cybertruck sales in Q3 2025, as reported by InsideEVs.
- A confirmed worldwide Cybertruck count for Q3 2026 is not available from Tesla’s release.
The next definitive evidence will be a Tesla disclosure that separates Cybertruck deliveries—or a credible model-level estimate that clearly states its geography, period and methodology. Until then, “sales in free fall” describes an older US estimate, not an established Q3 2026 global result.
