Choose Cyberpunk 2077 if you want a large open world to explore, a customizable character and a wide-ranging RPG structure. Choose Deus Ex: Mankind Divided if you prefer compact city hubs, stealth-led missions and finding your own tactical route through each objective. They share cyberpunk settings and character choices, but their central play loops are different.

Choose Cyberpunk 2077 for an open world and broad RPG progression
Cyberpunk 2077 is built around Night City as a place to explore, with jobs, character customization, upgrades and reputation forming a larger role-playing framework. Its scale makes it the more natural fit if you want to roam between activities and develop a character over an extended open-world experience.

Stealth and hacking-style play are part of its toolkit, but that does not mean every story mission functions like a flexible infiltration sandbox. Rick Lane’s September 30, 2026 PC Gamer essay characterizes some side activities and abilities as immersive-sim-like while judging the central story more directed. That is one writer’s perspective, not a universal measure of the game’s missions.

Choose Deus Ex: Mankind Divided for stealth and tactical routes
Mankind Divided puts Adam Jensen in a mission-focused story set in 2029. Its official pitch emphasizes weapons, augmentations and the ability to choose an approach. GameSpot describes its main scenarios as infiltration and investigation, with optional side missions and exploration rewards in Prague’s hubs.
That structure makes it the closer fit if what you want from a cyberpunk RPG is to study a space, use augmentations and decide whether to sneak, fight lethally or take a non-lethal route. It offers a more concentrated mission-and-hub experience than Cyberpunk 2077’s open-world framework; that is a difference in structure, not proof that one is categorically better.

Story choices matter in both, but neither comparison establishes a winner
Both games present decisions as consequential. Cyberpunk 2077’s official page says choices shape relationships, story and world. In a July 5, 2016 PlayStation Blog interview, narrative director Mary DeMarle said the team wanted choices and consequences to pay off on multiple levels; the page also discusses effects on the final mission and ending experience.

The available evidence does not establish that one has more reactive storytelling overall, a longer campaign or a better ending. Pick based on the kind of play surrounding the story: open-world progression in Cyberpunk or mission-by-mission infiltration in Deus Ex.

Check platform and edition before buying
Compatibility depends on the platform and edition you intend to use. The official Cyberpunk 2077 page lists PC, PS4, Xbox One, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2, and identifies an Ultimate Edition that includes Phantom Liberty and previously released content. Physical edition contents differ by platform, and local availability can vary, so check the platform and regional store listing before purchase.
The PlayStation page for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is a US PS4 listing and notes PS4 Pro enhancement. The ESRB listing identifies a Windows PC version and an M rating for Mature 17+ with Blood, Drug Reference, Intense Violence, Partial Nudity, Sexual Themes, Strong Language and Use of Alcohol. These inspected pages are not a complete worldwide compatibility or stock guide; verify the listing for your own region and platform. Deus Ex also has separately listed add-ons and a season pass, so distinguish those from the base game when checking a store page.

Which one should you play?
- Pick Cyberpunk 2077 for a large city to explore, a broad RPG progression loop and a mix of jobs and story missions.
- Pick Deus Ex: Mankind Divided for compact hubs, stealth-forward infiltration and tactical choices about how to complete missions.
- If both sound appealing, decide by structure: Cyberpunk is the open-world choice; Deus Ex is the focused mission-and-hub choice.
