CVE-2026-75650: What the /graphql Exposure شرط Means for Magento Stores

CVE-2026-75650 is a critical, unauthenticated code-execution flaw. Learn why /graphql exposure matters, how to check affected releases, and what to do next.

Yes, /graphql exposure matters—but it is not the whole test. The Australian Cyber Security Centre says exploitation of CVE-2026-75650 requires the /graphql endpoint to be exposed. You still need to check whether your Adobe Commerce, Adobe Commerce B2B, or Magento Open Source release is affected and whether Adobe’s hotfix or a release containing the fix is installed. Adobe says the flaw is being exploited in the wild and published a hotfix on September 7, 2026. Adobe’s APSB26-146 bulletin is the authority for affected releases and remediation.

What the /graphql precondition means

For this vulnerability, an exposed /graphql endpoint is a reachability condition: it describes an attack path that may be available to an attacker. It does not mean GraphQL itself is inherently vulnerable, nor that every public GraphQL service is affected. The Australian Cyber Security Centre (ACSC) states, “Exploitation requires the /graphql endpoint to be exposed.” Read that alongside Adobe’s affected-version list: endpoint exposure and vulnerable software status are separate checks.

Akamai’s technical analysis describes malicious PHP entering Magento’s template-processing path through HTTP headers and parameters, then being executed during automated email rendering. CERT Vanuatu describes a similar chain involving GraphQL styles handling and a payment transaction reminder template. These accounts help explain the reported attack path; Adobe’s bulletin remains the source for affected releases and the official fix.

How serious is CVE-2026-75650?

Adobe’s bulletin APSB26-146, published September 7 and updated September 9, 2026, classifies the vulnerability as Critical and gives it a CVSS base score of 10.0, with vector CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:C/C:H/I:H/A:H. Adobe describes the impact as arbitrary code execution, says authentication is not required, and states that it is aware of exploitation in the wild. Read Adobe’s security bulletin.

Akamai published its analysis on September 14, 2026, and also reported active exploitation attempts. It said its own Akamai App & API Protector Adaptive Security Engine CMD Injection protections blocked the primary GraphQL header- and parameter-based vectors it analyzed, while noting it was continuing to validate coverage across vectors. That is a product-specific observation, not a guarantee about other WAFs or every possible exploit. Akamai also identifies applying the vendor patch as the most effective defense. Read Akamai’s analysis.

Which Commerce and Magento releases are affected?

Adobe’s APSB26-146 affected-version table lists the following release lines and identifiers as affected. “And earlier” is part of Adobe’s designation; compare your exact installed release identifier with the bulletin rather than relying on the major and minor version alone.

Product Affected releases listed by Adobe
Adobe Commerce 2.4.4-2026-aug and earlier through 2.4.9-2026-aug and earlier
Adobe Commerce B2B 1.3.3-2026-aug and earlier; 1.3.4-2026-aug and earlier; 1.4.2-2026-aug and earlier; 1.5.2-2026-aug and earlier; 1.5.3-2026-aug and earlier
Magento Open Source 2.4.6-2026-aug and earlier through 2.4.9-2026-aug and earlier

The identifiers above reflect Adobe’s bulletin as available October 7, 2026. Check the live bulletin for its current table and follow its product-specific instructions.

How to check exposure and patch status

  1. Inventory deployments: Identify each Adobe Commerce, Adobe Commerce B2B, and Magento Open Source installation, including environments managed by a service provider.
  2. Compare release identifiers: Match each installation against the affected-version table in Adobe APSB26-146.
  3. Check endpoint reachability: Establish whether /graphql is reachable from the internet or other untrusted networks. A reachable endpoint makes the stated attack condition relevant, but does not establish by itself that the installation is vulnerable or unpatched.
  4. Verify remediation: Determine whether Adobe’s CVE-2026-75650 hotfix or a release containing the fix has been installed. Adobe identifies a hotfix for Adobe Commerce and Magento Open Source, available for all platforms, and links to its hotfix release notes. Follow those deployment-specific instructions and confirm the installed state; do not assume that a package was applied successfully.

What to do if the store is affected

Apply Adobe’s fix first

Adobe recommends updating installations to the newest version and identifies a CVE-2026-75650 hotfix. Use the bulletin and its linked release notes to choose and install the applicable fix for your deployment. The hotfix or a release that contains the fix is the direct remediation; exposure controls and monitoring are not substitutes.

Limit exposure while patching is pending

The ACSC advises restricting and monitoring access when a patch is unavailable, or updating to a version that includes it. Reduce reachability from untrusted networks where operationally feasible. Do not disable GraphQL blindly: first check whether the storefront or connected services depend on it, and plan restrictions that preserve required functions.

Review logs and system activity

The ACSC recommends looking for unusual system activity, unexpected scheduled tasks, suspicious log entries, unusual template processing, and failed notifications. Treat suspicious findings as a reason to escalate investigation; patching alone does not determine whether an earlier compromise occurred. If compromise is suspected, involve an incident-response professional and preserve relevant evidence.

Coordinate with a managed provider

If an MSP or enterprise IT provider operates the store, ask it to confirm the exact deployment’s release, fix status, endpoint exposure, and monitoring. The ACSC specifically advises contacting third-party providers to ensure patching and monitoring are addressed.

Use a WAF only as an additional layer

A WAF may help block known request patterns, but effectiveness depends on the product and the vectors it recognizes. Akamai’s reported results apply to its own protections and the vectors it analyzed; they do not establish universal coverage. Keep the vendor fix as the priority.

Choose controls by their role

Control Role Limit
Adobe hotfix or release containing the fix Direct remediation for CVE-2026-75650 Install according to the applicable Adobe instructions and verify the resulting state.
Endpoint restriction and monitoring Reduces reachability and supports detection while remediation is pending Temporary risk reduction; it does not show that the vulnerability is fixed.
WAF protections May block recognized request patterns or injection vectors Coverage varies by product and vector; not a replacement for the patch.
Managed-provider coordination Helps establish patching and monitoring status for externally operated stores Obtain confirmation for the specific installation.

Sources and scope

The affected-version, severity, exploitation, and hotfix statements above come from Adobe’s APSB26-146 bulletin. The exposure condition and response recommendations come from the Australian Cyber Security Centre alert. The attack-chain explanation and WAF observations are attributed to Akamai’s analysis. As of October 7, 2026, these sources establish no trustworthy victim count, prevalence rate, or total of affected public stores.
