Where can you buy or access Charting the Unknown?
Pearl Abyss describes the expansion as digital-download-only. Its preorder announcement names PlayStation Store, Steam, Epic Games Store, and Microsoft Store. The announcement also identifies PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S among the supported platforms. The Mac App Store will not have the expansion at launch; Pearl Abyss says it will share details separately if a Mac release is planned. Check the live store listing for your region before purchasing. View the preorder announcement and official DLC page.
What does the expansion include?
Pearl Abyss describes new islands to explore by sea, underwater treasures and ruins, threats on land and at sea, expanded housing and facility management, and continuing storylines involving Kliff, Oongka, and Damiane. These are publisher-described features. The listed digital preorder bonus is Charter’s Diving Set for Kliff and Oongka, plus Charter’s Light Diving Set for Damiane; these are in-game items, not physical merchandise. See the official expansion details.
Is the DLC available in every country?
No. Pearl Abyss says the expansion will not be offered in certain markets and regions following content and age-rating review, and preorder availability there will stop. The reviewed announcement does not identify those places in accessible text, so a specific country list cannot be confirmed here. Check the listing in your own regional store to see whether the DLC is available. Read Pearl Abyss’s regional-availability notice.

Can you get a refund after the delay?
The official guidance is limited to preorders in markets where the DLC will not be released: depending on the platform, refunds may be automatic or may need to be requested through that platform’s standard refund process. Pearl Abyss’s notice does not establish a general refund right for every buyer because of the delay, nor does it state one universal deadline. For an individual purchase, check the refund policy and order details in the store where you bought it.
Do not rely on Pearl Abyss’s Black Desert Online package FAQ as the policy for this expansion; it concerns a different game and product. View the Pearl Abyss Support FAQ.
