At a genuine $30, the Creative Pebble Plus is a good value if you want a compact desktop 2.1 system with a separate subwoofer and can leave it wired at a fixed desk. Its trade-off is literal: it needs USB power and a separate 3.5 mm audio connection, with several tethered cables to route. It is a poor match if you want Bluetooth, USB audio, or a tidy portable speaker setup.

What the Pebble Plus is—and what it is not
Creative Pebble Plus, model MF0480, is a wired 2.1 desktop speaker system: two small satellite speakers and a separate subwoofer. That distinguishes it from the Creative Pebble without “Plus,” which GamesRadar+ says does not include a subwoofer. Confirm the model name on a listing if the subwoofer is part of why you are buying.

The satellites each measure 122 × 116 × 115 mm; the subwoofer measures 150 × 195 × 202 mm. Creative lists their weights as 0.30 kg for the left satellite, 0.345 kg for the right, and 1.05 kg for the subwoofer. Why the cable clutter is part of the deal
The Pebble Plus uses separate wired connections for power and audio. Creative describes its USB connection as “USB powered plug (No USB audio)”: USB Type-A supplies power, while sound comes in through a tethered 3.5 mm stereo Aux lead. It has no Bluetooth. With a computer, expect to use both USB power and an analog audio connection rather than one USB cable for everything.
Creative specifies 1.2 m leads for the satellite interconnect, USB power, and 3.5 mm audio, plus a 1.8 m RCA cable to the subwoofer. They are tethered, so placement and cable routing matter. GamesRadar+ reviewer Tom Farthing found routing the leads across a desk inconvenient and visually messy. Cable clips or an under-desk tray can make the wiring less conspicuous, but they do not remove the cables or add wireless connectivity.

What its power and sound specifications mean
The system has two 2-inch midrange drivers and one 4-inch subwoofer. Creative specifies a 50 Hz–20 kHz frequency-response range, a 75 dB signal-to-noise ratio, 4-ohm satellites, and a 2-ohm subwoofer. It lists output of up to 8 W RMS only when the speakers use a 5 V/2 A USB adapter and the gain switch is set to High. That rated output is not a promise of a particular loudness or sound quality; check the package contents and power requirements rather than assuming an adapter is included.
Farthing reported clear, balanced sound at moderate volume and audible extra depth from the subwoofer, which he described as modest rather than powerful. He also reported more distortion when pushing the speakers, especially with bass-heavy tracks. Those are his listening impressions, not standardized measurements. If you need high volume or forceful deep bass, do not infer that this compact, low-power system will deliver it.

When it is worth buying—and when it is not
It makes sense for a fixed desktop
- You specifically want a separate subwoofer in a compact PC speaker setup.
- Your listening is mostly at moderate levels, and you do not expect room-filling output or powerful bass.
- You can keep the system installed and have a practical way to route the attached leads.
- The live price is near the $30 value point rather than a higher offer that changes the comparison.
Choose a different setup if the wiring or connections are deal-breakers
- Skip it if you need Bluetooth or want USB audio through one digital connection.
- Look elsewhere if you frequently move your speakers or want a cleaner desk without routing several fixed leads.
- Do not buy it for loud, bass-heavy listening on the assumption that the subwoofer guarantees powerful bass.
