COROS PACE 4 Pro vs. PACE 3: What’s Changed, and Is It Worth Upgrading?

The PACE 4 Pro adds a larger AMOLED screen, downloadable maps, dual-frequency GPS, and more. Here’s how its listed specs compare with the PACE 3—and who may benefit from upgrading.
Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The COROS PACE 4 Pro’s clearest upgrades over the PACE 3 are its larger, higher-resolution AMOLED display and downloadable maps. It also adds a titanium-alloy bezel, sapphire glass, dual-frequency GPS, more storage, voice functions, and higher manufacturer-listed GPS battery estimates. Those changes may matter if you want a more visual watch or map context on your wrist; they do not, by themselves, make an upgrade necessary for every PACE 3 owner.

The practical decision comes down to which features you would use, how much the added weight matters with your preferred band, and the current price where you live. The figures below are COROS specifications and battery estimates, not results from an independent head-to-head test.

What’s changed between the PACE 4 Pro and PACE 3?

The PACE 4 Pro updates the experience most visibly at the screen and navigation level. COROS lists a 1.47-inch, 466 × 466 LTPO AMOLED display, downloadable global landscape and topographic maps, and dual-frequency GPS. The PACE 3 has a 1.2-inch, 240 × 240 Memory-in-Pixel (MIP) touchscreen and breadcrumb navigation, according to COROS’s comparison information.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

It is also a different materials-and-weight proposition: the PACE 4 Pro has a TC4 titanium-alloy bezel and sapphire display, and weighs more than the PACE 3 with either listed band. COROS lists more onboard storage, voice-note and hands-free-call functions, and dedicated triathlon and multisport modes for the PACE 4 Pro. The PACE 3 remains the lighter option in the published specifications.

The display, navigation, and weight descriptions above come from COROS specifications. Battery figures are COROS’s mode-specific estimates; they are not independent measurements. COROS says actual battery results depend on feature use and settings. The storage amounts appear in COROS’s comparison, while the PACE 4 Pro’s current product page is the reference for its feature list.

It helps to separate the changes into three groups before making a buying decision. First are changes you see and interact with, especially the larger display and maps. Second are specifications that may matter for a particular use case, such as GPS duration, weight, and storage. Third are optional conveniences, including voice notes and hands-free calls. A longer feature list is not automatically a better fit: the value of each addition depends on whether it addresses something you want from your current watch.

How much better is the screen?

On paper, the PACE 4 Pro’s display is both larger and much more densely specified. Its 1.47-inch diagonal is 0.27 inches greater than the PACE 3’s 1.2 inches. The listed resolution rises from 240 × 240 to 466 × 466 pixels. Multiplying the listed dimensions gives roughly 217,000 pixels for the PACE 4 Pro and 58,000 for the PACE 3—about 3.8 times as many pixels overall.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

That is a substantial specification change for reading watch faces, workout screens, and map details. It does not establish how readable either watch is in particular sunlight conditions, how its brightness compares in practice, or how either display performs in a real workout. COROS lists AMOLED for the newer model and MIP for the PACE 3, but no independent sunlight or brightness testing is established here.

Choose based on the kind of screen you want to use, not on resolution alone. If you prefer a larger, higher-resolution AMOLED panel and value the way that format presents on-watch information, the PACE 4 Pro is the clear specification upgrade. If you are satisfied with the PACE 3’s MIP touchscreen, the published numbers do not prove that your daily experience requires a replacement.

Ask yourself what you currently need to see on your wrist. If you often check workout information or want to view map context on-watch, the larger panel and higher pixel count are relevant changes. If your watch is mainly recording an activity and you are already comfortable reading its current screen, the numbers may be less meaningful in day-to-day use. Specifications can compare screen size and resolution, but they cannot tell you whether the difference will feel worthwhile to you.

Does the PACE 4 Pro have maps?

Yes. COROS lists downloadable global landscape and topographic maps, including street and trail names, for the PACE 4 Pro. The PACE 3 comparison describes breadcrumb navigation instead. The useful distinction is map context versus following a route line: a map can show named features around your position, while breadcrumb navigation is centered on tracing a route rather than displaying that same named landscape context.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Maps are the strongest reason to consider the new model if you routinely navigate unfamiliar places and want more than a line to follow. They are less compelling if you already plan routes elsewhere, know your usual routes, or rarely use wrist navigation. The specifications establish map availability, not how easy every map is to read, download, or use in every location.

Consider how you actually navigate. A route line can be enough when you are following a planned course and do not need surrounding streets or trails named on the watch. Map context is more directly relevant when you want to understand where the route sits in relation to named features. COROS describes the PACE 4 Pro maps as downloadable and global; that does not mean every buyer will use them, or that map coverage and usefulness will be identical for every outing.

The distinction also matters when comparing models by the word “navigation” alone. Both descriptions involve route guidance, but COROS’s PACE 3 comparison specifies breadcrumb navigation, while the PACE 4 Pro product information lists landscape and topographic maps with street and trail names. If maps are the reason you are considering an upgrade, confirm that this is the feature you want rather than assuming the presence of any navigation function means the watches work the same way.

How much GPS battery life do you gain?

Use the same satellite mode for a fair comparison. COROS lists 60 hours for the PACE 4 Pro in All Systems On / High mode, versus 25 hours for the PACE 3 in All Systems On. That is a 35-hour difference between the published estimates, or about 2.4 times the listed duration. In Dual Frequency, the PACE 4 Pro estimate is 40 hours in Max mode, versus 15 hours for the PACE 3—25 hours more, or about 2.7 times the listed duration.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
GPS mode listed by COROS PACE 4 Pro estimate PACE 3 estimate Difference between listed estimates
All Systems On 60 hours, High mode 25 hours 35 hours
Dual Frequency 40 hours, Max mode 15 hours 25 hours

The PACE 4 Pro figures are from COROS Help Center battery information for 2026; the PACE 3 figures are from the same COROS battery comparison. The PACE 4 Pro mode labels include “High” and “Max,” so treat these as the manufacturer’s mode-specific estimates rather than a controlled, like-for-like independent test. Actual duration can change with settings and use of features. Your meaningful comparison is the mode you actually use, not the largest number in the table.

For long outings, the listed estimates make the PACE 4 Pro more relevant if you use Dual Frequency and want the stated 40-hour estimate rather than the PACE 3’s stated 15 hours. If your usual GPS mode and activity duration already fit within your PACE 3’s needs, the figures alone do not demonstrate a need to upgrade.

Before treating the difference as a personal gain, check the mode you select today and compare it with the matching PACE 4 Pro mode. The estimate of 60 hours is specifically for All Systems On / High, while the estimate of 40 hours is for Dual Frequency / Max. These are not interchangeable labels, and the larger number should not be used as a stand-in for a different mode. COROS also cautions that actual results depend on settings and feature use, so treat the published hours as a comparison point rather than a guaranteed runtime for every configuration.

The practical question is whether your current watch’s listed estimate in your usual mode is insufficient for the activities you do. If you need longer GPS sessions and use Dual Frequency, the difference between the stated estimates is especially notable on paper. If your outings fit within the PACE 3 estimate, the PACE 4 Pro’s higher figures may not change your routine. No independent accuracy or real-world endurance comparison is established by these battery specifications.

What do the materials and weight mean for the choice?

COROS lists a TC4 titanium-alloy bezel and sapphire display for the PACE 4 Pro. It weighs 43 g with a nylon band or 51 g with a silicone band. The PACE 3 comparison lists 30 g with nylon or 38 g with silicone. Compare the same band type: the PACE 4 Pro is 13 g heavier in either listed configuration.

That extra weight is a concrete trade-off against the newer display and materials. Whether you notice or prefer it on your wrist is personal; the specifications cannot establish comfort for an individual runner, cyclist, or swimmer. Sapphire and titanium are material descriptions, not evidence here of a measured durability advantage or a particular outcome after impact. If low weight is a priority and you are content with the PACE 3’s features, its lower listed weight is a reason to keep it in consideration.

Band choice makes the comparison easy to misread if you compare one model’s nylon configuration with the other’s silicone configuration. The nylon-band figures are 43 g versus 30 g; the silicone-band figures are 51 g versus 38 g. In both cases, the listed difference is 13 g. This is a specification comparison, not a judgment about how the watches feel during a particular activity.

The bezel and display materials are another point where it is useful to distinguish what is listed from what is proven. COROS names titanium alloy and sapphire for the PACE 4 Pro, but the available product specifications do not establish how either watch holds up under a particular impact, scratch, or long-term use. If these materials are part of your reason to buy, treat them as material differences, not as a guarantee of a specific durability outcome.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

What else does the PACE 4 Pro add?

More storage and voice functions

COROS’s comparison lists 32 GB of storage for the PACE 4 Pro and 4 GB for the PACE 3. The PACE 4 Pro product page describes a built-in microphone and speaker for voice notes and hands-free calls. These are additional capabilities, but their value depends on whether you want voice functions on a sport watch; storage capacity alone does not tell you how much space a particular map or activity will use.

The storage difference is substantial in the listed capacities: 32 GB versus 4 GB. That tells you the PACE 4 Pro has more onboard space according to COROS’s comparison, but it does not tell you how much room your own maps or other content will require. Avoid converting the capacity figures into a promise about how many maps or activities fit; that depends on file sizes and the watch’s use of storage, details not established by the capacity comparison alone.

The microphone and speaker add options for voice notes and hands-free calls, as described on the PACE 4 Pro product page. Think of these as convenience features to weigh against what you want from a sport watch, not as a reason to assume a particular call experience or sound quality. If you would not use voice functions, they may have little impact on your upgrade decision.

Multisport modes and connected sensors

The PACE 4 Pro product page lists dedicated triathlon and multisport modes. COROS’s buying information says it connects over Bluetooth to heart-rate monitors, cycling power meters, cadence sensors, speed sensors, and the COROS POD 2. That describes supported accessory categories, not universal compatibility with every product in a category. Check the individual device’s compatibility before buying or relying on a particular sensor.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

If you already use an external heart-rate monitor, cycling power meter, cadence sensor, speed sensor, or POD 2, the listed Bluetooth support is relevant when checking a potential setup. It does not verify that every brand or model will work, so confirm a specific accessory rather than relying only on its category name. The same caution applies if you are buying a sensor specifically for a new watch: make compatibility a separate check before spending.

Dedicated triathlon and multisport modes may be particularly relevant to buyers who want those activity modes. Their presence on the PACE 4 Pro feature page is a listed capability; the product information does not establish a performance advantage over the PACE 3 for every multisport athlete. If those modes are central to your decision, confirm the current model-specific feature details before purchase.

What does the PACE 4 Pro cost, and when did it launch?

COROS’s U.S. product listing showed a price of $449 in 2026. That is a dated U.S. listing, not a guaranteed current price or a price for other regions. Check COROS or a local retailer for current pricing, taxes, stock, and shipping before deciding. A PACE 3 resale value and the net cost of trading up are not established here, so calculate those from your own sale options rather than assuming a credit or resale price.

For an upgrade decision, the price to compare is not simply the PACE 4 Pro’s list price. It is the current amount you would pay after any verified discount, minus any amount you can actually obtain by selling or trading in your PACE 3. Neither a current PACE 3 price nor a resale figure is established here, and retailer prices can change. Use current local listings rather than treating the $449 U.S. listing as a universal or permanent price.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

COROS’s Japanese launch announcement gives September 24, 2026, as the PACE 4 Pro launch date. A U.S. product page displayed a 5–7 business-day shipping estimate in 2026; that estimate, like stock and shipping availability, can change. The launch announcement’s date is specific to the cited announcement and does not establish delivery timing in every country.

Check availability as well as price when comparing options. The shipping estimate is a product-page snapshot, not a promise for a later order, and it does not establish local stock or delivery time outside the listing shown. If timing matters, verify the current estimate with COROS or the retailer before placing an order.

How to decide whether the upgrade is worth it

Start with the PACE 3 feature you most want to change, not the number of differences on a spec sheet. If the screen is your main frustration, compare the listed 1.47-inch, 466 × 466 AMOLED with the PACE 3’s 1.2-inch, 240 × 240 MIP. If navigation is the issue, ask whether named map context would help beyond breadcrumb route following. If battery is the reason, identify your actual GPS mode first and compare its listed estimate.

Then check the trade-offs using matching specifications. Compare weight with the same band type: the PACE 4 Pro is listed at 43 g versus 30 g with nylon, or 51 g versus 38 g with silicone. Consider whether the added weight is acceptable to you; the numbers cannot predict comfort. Finally, check the current local price and work out your net cost after any amount you can truly get for your PACE 3.

This approach helps separate a feature that sounds useful from one that will change your own use of the watch. A map upgrade matters most if you use wrist navigation. The GPS estimate matters most if your activities and satellite mode make the extra listed hours relevant. More storage, microphone and speaker functions, or multisport modes matter only to the extent that they fit your setup. If none solves a problem you have, keeping a working PACE 3 remains a reasonable choice.

Is the PACE 4 Pro worth upgrading to?

It is most worth considering if you can name a feature you will use that the PACE 3 does not provide in the same way. The clearest cases are wanting downloadable maps with named streets and trails, preferring a much larger AMOLED display, or needing the PACE 4 Pro’s stated GPS estimates in your actual satellite mode. Its added storage, voice functions, and multisport modes may matter for particular setups, but they are not reasons every PACE 3 owner needs to replace a functioning watch.

  • Consider upgrading if map context is important to your routes, the PACE 3 screen feels limiting to you, or your GPS mode and activity duration make the newer listed battery estimates useful.
  • Consider keeping the PACE 3 if it already covers your training and navigation needs, its lighter listed weight suits you, and the display and mapping changes do not solve a problem you have.
  • Compare the real cost using the current local PACE 4 Pro price and what you could actually receive for your PACE 3. The available figures do not establish a current PACE 3 price or resale value.

This is a feature-based buying judgment, not a claim that the PACE 4 Pro has been shown in a head-to-head test to deliver better GPS accuracy, heart-rate accuracy, comfort, or durability. COROS describes the PACE 4 Pro in its product-page wording as offering “60 hours of GPS battery life, fast global mapping, dual-frequency GPS, and advanced training tools”; that is the company’s product description, not an independent assessment. For a PACE 3 owner who does not value the screen or mapping changes, the published specifications alone do not establish a compelling need to upgrade.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the PACE 4 Pro screen bigger than the PACE 3 screen?

Yes. COROS lists a 1.47-inch, 466 × 466 LTPO AMOLED display for the PACE 4 Pro and a 1.2-inch, 240 × 240 MIP touchscreen for the PACE 3. The listed pixel dimensions work out to about 3.8 times as many pixels on the PACE 4 Pro, but that specification does not independently measure brightness or sunlight readability.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Does the COROS PACE 4 Pro have maps?

COROS lists downloadable global landscape and topographic maps with street and trail names for the PACE 4 Pro. The PACE 3 comparison describes breadcrumb navigation, which centers on following a route line rather than the same named map context.

How much more GPS battery life does the PACE 4 Pro list?

COROS estimates 60 hours in All Systems On / High for the PACE 4 Pro versus 25 hours in All Systems On for the PACE 3. In Dual Frequency, the listed estimates are 40 hours in Max mode for the PACE 4 Pro and 15 hours for the PACE 3. These are mode-specific manufacturer estimates, and COROS says actual runtime depends on settings and feature use.

Is the PACE 4 Pro heavier than the PACE 3?

Yes, by 13 g with either matching band configuration in COROS’s specifications: 43 g versus 30 g with nylon, or 51 g versus 38 g with silicone. Those figures do not establish how the difference will feel to an individual.

What was the PACE 4 Pro price?

COROS’s U.S. product listing showed $449 in 2026. Prices, stock, and shipping can change, and that U.S. listing does not establish a current price in another region. Check the current local listing before buying.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Should a PACE 3 owner upgrade?

Consider the PACE 4 Pro if you specifically want its AMOLED display, named downloadable maps, dual-frequency GPS with higher listed battery estimates, or other added features. If the PACE 3 already covers your needs and those changes would not affect how you use the watch, its specifications alone do not establish a compelling reason to replace it.

The Bottom Line

Bottom line: The PACE 4 Pro’s biggest listed changes are its larger, higher-resolution AMOLED screen and downloadable maps. It also offers dual-frequency GPS with higher COROS battery estimates, more storage, voice functions, and a titanium-alloy bezel with sapphire glass—but weighs 13 g more than the PACE 3 with either matching band. Consider upgrading if those specific changes solve a need for you. Otherwise, a functioning PACE 3 remains a sensible option. Compare the same GPS mode and band type, then check current local prices before deciding.
