Save an editable CDR copy before exporting: PNG, JPEG, and PDF may not preserve every feature in the original CorelDRAW document. For PNG or JPEG, use File > Export; for a PDF, use File > Publish to PDF. The steps below follow Corel’s documented Windows workflow. Menu labels and options can vary by operating system, edition, and release.
Choose the format and export scope first
PNG and JPEG are raster image formats, suited to placing artwork in web pages, presentations, or other image-based uses. PDF is a document format designed to preserve fonts, images, graphics, and formatting from an original application file, making it a common choice for sharing and print delivery. Corel lists PNG, JPEG, and PDF among supported formats, though a format filter may not be installed by default; if a format you expect is missing, Corel says the installation may need updating. See Corel’s Export files and Supported file formats help.

Before opening an export dialog, decide what the output should include: the document, the current page, multiple pages as separate files, or selected objects. Scope controls and their availability depend on format and release. Exported images are not a substitute for the editable CDR source.
How do I export a CorelDRAW file to PNG?
- Save the document in CorelDRAW’s native CDR format so you retain an editable source.
- Choose File > Export.
- Select the destination folder, choose PNG in the format list, and enter a filename.
- Choose the applicable scope, such as the current page, pages exported to separate files, or selected objects. Not every option is available for every format or release.
- Consider enabling page-boundary cropping if the image should stop at the drawing-page edges. Review artwork at the edges first: anything outside the page will be cropped, including intentional bleed or objects extending beyond the page.
- Click Export and set options in the PNG dialog shown by your installed version. Match image dimensions, transparency, and color requirements to the destination; there is no single resolution or setting that suits every use.
Corel’s Windows help says page-boundary cropping is available for PNG export and can reduce file size by excluding off-page artwork. The exact dialog controls may vary by version. See Corel’s export instructions.

How do I save a CorelDRAW image as a JPEG?
Use the same File > Export workflow as for PNG, but select JPEG as the file format. Choose the destination, filename, and applicable export scope, then click Export and review the JPEG options available in your version. Set dimensions and image quality for the intended destination rather than relying on a universal preset.
Page-boundary cropping is also documented for JPEG. When enabled, it cuts off artwork beyond the page edge; leave it off if off-page content needs to remain in the exported image. Corel describes this option and the scope controls in its Export files help.

How do I export a CorelDRAW file to PDF?
- Choose File > Publish to PDF.
- Enter a filename and choose a PDF preset that matches the intended use.
- Review Settings and the export range. Check whether you are publishing the whole document, a page, or a selection, as appropriate.
- Publish the PDF, then check the result against the delivery requirements. For print, confirm the required standard, color handling, and settings with the print provider.
Corel’s PDF workflow and preset descriptions are documented in an older help path, so preset names and behavior should be checked against the installed release. The PDF feature overview also appears in Corel’s Export to PDF help.
Which PDF preset should I use?
Presets are intended for different kinds of delivery; they are not interchangeable quality levels. The following descriptions come from Corel’s older PDF documentation and may differ in newer releases. Choose based on the recipient’s requirements, particularly for print.

These descriptions are from Corel’s Exporting documents as PDF files help. Ask the recipient or print provider which standard and color conditions they expect instead of assuming a preset is suitable.

Check the result before sending it
- Confirm that the exported file opens and that the intended pages or objects are present.
- For PNG or JPEG, inspect the page edges for accidental cropping and verify the image size and appearance at its intended use size.
- For PDF, check page range and content, and confirm the recipient’s requirements for printing or archival delivery.
- Keep the CDR file as the editable source; Corel warns that some formats do not support all features of a CDR document.
