If groups are the bigger problem, start with Spin Edge instead. These are conditional picks, not a universal ranking; the guides’ recommendations differ.
What Combo Finishers do
Combo Finishers are enders for your primary melee attack sequence. CONTROL Resonant has six, according to the Epic Games Store overview. Unlocking one does not equip it automatically: you must assign it in Loadout.

How to unlock and equip a finisher
- Reach Aberrant Strength 15. Games.gg and Beebom report this as the unlock threshold for the finisher system.
- Buy a finisher in The Gap. Games.gg reports that each costs one Living Shard.
- Assign it in Loadout. Choose the purchased maneuver before entering combat; a purchase alone will not make it your active finisher.
- Build your primary melee sequence. Finishers activate at the end of that sequence, as Epic’s overview explains.

Why Uppercut Surge is the default pick for many players
Games.gg’s September 23, 2026 guide calls Uppercut Surge the strongest first pick for most players. Its reasoning is practical: lifting one threatening enemy can interrupt the usual ground-level pressure and create a brief opening. The guide also notes a Power-return benefit against Lifted enemies.

That makes it a useful first choice when a single opponent is forcing you to react rather than control the fight. It is not evidence that the move is best in every encounter, and the recommendation comes from a guide rather than a controlled comparison.
When Spin Edge or Concussive Beatdown makes more sense
Choose Spin Edge for nearby groups
Method’s September 25, 2026 guide recommends Spin Edge for players who struggle with groups. It deals spinning damage to nearby enemies, and the guide says its extended upgrade can keep Falter pressure up. If surrounding enemies are the recurring problem, that group-oriented role may matter more than Uppercut Surge’s single-target lift.
Choose Concussive Beatdown for grounded single-target pressure
Method describes Concussive Beatdown as a quick-attack option that builds high Falter against a grounded target. Consider it if that approach suits how you prefer to handle a single opponent. The available guide advice does not establish that it is a stronger general-purpose pick than Uppercut Surge.
Names vary between guides
The sources agree that there are six finishers, but their naming is not fully consistent. Epic’s overview names Concussive Beatdown and Split Orbit; Method discusses Spin Edge, Uppercut Surge, Concussive Beatdown, Wide Edge, Split Pivot, and Split Orbit; Games.gg also discusses Uppercut Surge and Wide Edge. Check the in-game menu for the names available in your version rather than treating any one guide’s list as a fully reconciled roster.
