CONTROL Resonant update 1.4.0 adds unlimited New Game++ runs and a broad set of interface, balance, accessibility, performance, audio and bug fixes. Remedy’s later-listed hotfix 1.4.1 fixes two problems introduced by 1.4.0: a blocker in The Park Resonant quest and lost Dash-to-Surge momentum while using Elevate. Remedy says the 1.4.0 notes cover notable fixes, not every change.
What update 1.4.0 adds
Unlimited New Game++ runs
Players can now start an unlimited number of New Game++ runs, extending replay options after finishing the story. Remedy’s 1.4.0 notes announce the repeat-run feature but do not restate the full list of what carries over.
For that detail, Remedy lead gameplay designer Sergey Mohov explained in an April 30, 2026 PlayStation Blog article about New Game Plus that Aberrant upgrades, health and combat-resource improvements, unlocked supernatural combat abilities, talents and artifacts carry into NG+. Traversal abilities do not, because they are tied to story progression and how the world unfolds.
Clearer build and upgrade tracking
- Build Power is now shown on the Loadout screen.
- The HUD indicates when upgrades or purchases are available in The Gap.
- Materials pinned for upgrades can be checked against the Vendor from the map.
Audio and Assist Mode controls
A separate slider controls radio-dialogue volume. Audio balance options cover speakers or headphones and the DualSense controller speaker. Assist Mode also adds a Power Core Charge Duration multiplier adjustable from 100% to 300%.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Combat and challenge tuning
Remedy reduced the Unknown Zone’s overall combat amount and intensity by 10%–15%. This is the developer’s stated tuning adjustment for that zone, not an independent measurement of overall game difficulty or player experience. The patch also makes some challenge scores easier, adjusts rewards to make maxing out zones in New Game+ easier, and tunes several enemy interactions.
Technical, presentation and peripheral changes
The notes list performance optimizations aimed mainly at PC minimum and recommended specifications, along with crash fixes across platforms. They also mention HDR and rendering fixes, DLSS frame-generation improvements, and work on pop-in, lighting, dialogue, subtitles, animation and mission polish. Remedy does not provide benchmark results, so the notes do not establish a specific frame-rate gain or performance improvement for a given PC.

Update 1.4.0 adds Razer haptics support, including effects for events such as melee and taking damage. The notes do not name compatible peripheral models; they also do not describe this support as necessary to play.
Hotfix 1.4.1 fixes two problems from 1.4.0
Remedy’s hotfix 1.4.1 note identifies two regressions introduced by the update:
Rank #3
- Sleek 7-in-1 USB-C Hub: Features an HDMI port, two USB-A 3.0 ports, and a USB-C data port, each providing 5Gbps transfer speeds. It also includes a USB-C PD input port for charging up to 100W and dual SD and TF card slots, all in a compact design.
- Flawless 4K@60Hz Video with HDMI: Delivers exceptional clarity and smoothness with its 4K@60Hz HDMI port, making it ideal for high-definition presentations and entertainment. (Note: Only the HDMI port supports video projection; the USB-C port is for data transfer only.)
- Double Up on Efficiency: The two USB-A 3.0 ports and a USB-C port support a fast 5Gbps data rate, significantly boosting your transfer speeds and improving productivity.
- Fast and Reliable 85W Charging: Offers high-capacity, speedy charging for laptops up to 85W, so you spend less time tethered to an outlet and more time being productive.
- What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (7-in-1), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
- The Park Resonant quest: Players could not progress because the required Mold interaction became impossible. Remedy says the quest is completable again after the hotfix.
- Dash momentum into Surge: A fix for another movement issue had inadvertently broken momentum transfer from a Dash into Surge while using Elevate. Remedy says that movement behavior works again.
Remedy’s patch-note index lists 1.4.1 after 1.4.0. The cited notes do not include a per-platform rollout table, so check the version shown by your platform rather than assuming every version is available everywhere at the same time.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What the fix list covers—and what it does not promise
The 1.4.0 notes group fixes across a wide range of areas, including audio synchronization, map markers, quest progression, boss encounters, enemy behavior, controllers, ultrawide displays, subtitles and voice-over. They also include crash and display-related work. Remedy explicitly describes the list as selective, so an issue not named in the notes is not necessarily proof that it remains unfixed.

- Please Note: To reach 10Gbps speed, keep the cable under 3.3 ft. For USB A Male to USB C adapters, try flipping the USB C connector. USB C Male to USB A adapters support bidirectional 10Gbps transfer within 3.3 ft
The notes document changes made by Remedy, not independent tests of their effect. In particular, they do not report PC benchmark data, player-survey results or a measured overall difficulty change. For a specific bug, the clearest stated outcomes are the two regressions Remedy says 1.4.1 resolves.
