A secondary guide links the combat abilities to six Resonant bosses, but the available sources do not verify every prerequisite or provide a complete step-by-step unlock route. Below is the full ability checklist, the reported boss associations, and the one documented route in detail: The Park and its choice between Growth and Spore Burst.
How the 17 abilities are divided
The list reported by GamingBolt contains five traversal abilities and twelve combat abilities. Traversal powers help Dylan move through the environment; combat powers provide attacks, defense, summons, status effects, or enemy control. Combat abilities also compete for limited slots, and some are presented as mutually exclusive choices at first.

Choosing between combat abilities
The reported boss associations tell you where abilities are tied in the guide, not which ones are objectively best. Use their roles to decide what fits your build and available slots:
Rank #2
- Defense or damage: Shield is the defensive option in the list, while Barrage, Inferno, and Ground Slam emphasize attacking.
- Area control or setup: Ground Slam and Push affect groups or positioning; Ignite and the Mold abilities add fire or Infected effects.
- Summon or direct attack: Volatile Anomaly, Growth, and Spike add summoned attackers, while Barrage and Spore Burst are player-fired projectiles.
- Slot and charge constraints: Combat abilities have limited slots, and Command uses a limited charge without occupying a dedicated slot. The guide also describes some early selections as mutually exclusive, so consider the role you need before choosing.
Patch context for difficulty and respec advice
Remedy Entertainment’s official Steam launch news says hotfix 1.3.3, dated September 24, 2026, reduced base health and Falter requirements for most enemies, including The Dancer and The Deserter. It also increased maximum Aberrant and Ability Strength, expanded Assist Mode adjustments, reduced respec costs, and increased Reset Item stock. These changes are a dated launch-patch snapshot, not a guarantee that later versions retain the same balance.
