Connecteam bundles scheduling, time tracking, forms and team communication for hourly and field teams. Here is how its hub and tier pricing works, what is vendor-claimed, and what to verify before buying.

Connecteam is a workforce app that combines scheduling, time tracking, forms, communication and HR tools for hourly, frontline and field teams. Its main appeal is breadth in one product and a free plan for accounts with up to 10 users. Its main cost question is that the headline Operations price covers only one hub, so the real monthly figure depends on which hubs you add. Most of what follows comes from Connecteam’s own pages, which are current as of early October 2026. Independent evidence on reliability, support quality, setup effort and ease of use is not established here.

What Connecteam bundles

Connecteam organizes its product into hubs that are priced separately. Its pricing materials name three: Operations, Communications, and HR & Skills. Each hub covers a different part of running a non-desk workforce, and you can combine them.

Operations Hub

According to Connecteam’s Help Center article dated January 27, 2026, the Operations Hub includes a time clock, a job scheduler, forms, and quick tasks. This is the hub most buyers evaluate first, because scheduling and clock-in are the daily work of hourly teams.

Communications Hub

Connecteam’s product overview lists chat and company updates as communication features. Confirm which of these are included at your chosen tier, because access is gated by hub and plan.

HR & Skills Hub

The pricing materials list HR & Skills as a separate hub. The HR and skills functions are not itemized in the material reviewed here, so check the live feature list before assuming it covers onboarding, training records or similar needs.

How the pricing works

Connecteam’s pricing page, captured October 7, 2026, shows prices in US dollars for the Operations tiers below. Prices are volatile and can change, so confirm them on the live page before budgeting.

Operations tier Price shown (monthly) Users covered at that price Features the page highlights
Basic $29 First 30 users Core Operations features. The captured summary does not itemize them, so check the live list.
Advanced $49 First 30 users Clock customization, auto clock-out, geofence sites, filters, and schedule templates
Expert $99 First 30 users Further automation and reporting, API access, and webhook management

Each tier lists additional-user rates on the pricing page, and it offers monthly and annual billing. The additional-user amount is not stated in this review; read it from the live page for your headcount.

The pricing calculator shows bundle totals for combined hubs. For example, Operations Basic plus Communications Basic is displayed at $58 per month for up to 30 users. Calculator figures are illustrative and change with the scenario you select, so run your own headcount and hub mix through it. A team that needs scheduling, clock-in and team chat should price the combination, not the $29 Operations figure alone.

The free Small Business Plan

Connecteam’s Small Business Plan page, captured October 7, 2026, says accounts with up to 10 users can access the listed features at no cost. This review does not confirm how users are counted or which account types qualify. Read the current terms before relying on the free plan, especially if your headcount is close to the limit.

What the workflows cover

Scheduling

Connecteam describes shift and job scheduling, open shifts, availability reporting, schedule sharing, and scheduling templates. Its FAQ says managers can require approval before an open shift is assigned to an employee who claims it. Schedule templates are also listed as an Advanced-tier feature, so check whether your scheduling needs require Advanced.

Time tracking and payroll handoff

Connecteam describes clocking in and out on mobile or desktop, timesheets, overtime and break calculations, location features including GPS and geofencing, and payroll exports or integrations. These are vendor-stated capabilities. Not every function appears in every plan, and the materials do not present Connecteam as a payroll processor. Treat it as the source of time data that feeds your payroll process, and verify that the export or integration matches your payroll provider and plan.

Forms, checklists and quick tasks

Connecteam lists forms, checklists, quick tasks and job information as ways to digitize recurring operational work, such as shift checks or site inspections. These are the features most relevant to field and maintenance teams, where paper or messaging-based processes are common.

Chat, updates and HR

Chat and company updates let managers communicate with staff through the app. Confirm which communication and HR functions your tier includes, since the materials describe them at the hub level rather than tier by tier.

Where it may fit

  • Hourly or frontline teams that need clock-in, timesheets and scheduling in a single app rather than separate tools.
  • Field or multi-site operations that want location-based clock-in, geofence sites, or auto clock-out, which the pricing page places in the Advanced tier.
  • Businesses with recurring checklists, inspections or forms that currently run on paper or messaging.
  • Very small teams of up to 10 users that want to test a workforce app at no cost, if they qualify under current terms.
  • Operations managers who want reporting, automation or API access, which the pricing page places in the Expert tier.

Pros and cons, with evidence labels

Potential advantages

  • Breadth: scheduling, time tracking, forms, communication and HR tools are described within one product family.
  • Connected workflows: timekeeping and scheduling are presented as linked, which can reduce duplicate data entry.
  • Documented payroll options: exports and integrations are described, which matters if you already run a payroll system.
  • Published pricing: tier prices, user thresholds and a calculator are shown publicly, which makes early budgeting easier.
  • A free plan for up to 10 users, subject to current terms.

Potential drawbacks

  • Cost stacking: the total depends on how many hubs you combine, so the headline Operations price can understate the real figure.
  • Tier gating: automation, advanced clock controls, geofence sites and API access sit in higher tiers.
  • Payroll fit: compatibility depends on your provider, your plan, and local overtime or break rules, none of which are confirmed here.
  • Mobile fit: the product is built for non-desk workers, but whether it suits your workforce depends on phone access, connectivity and comfort with app-based clocking.

Vendor claims and what is not established

Connecteam reports that it serves more than 80,000 businesses worldwide and that more than 1.8 million managers and employees use the platform. These figures appear on its homepage without a stated year or methodology, and they are company-reported. The product also claims benefits such as time saved, fewer errors and reduced time theft. These are positioning claims, not independently measured results.

The scheduling page includes a customer testimonial attributed to Mandy Mann, Director of Operations, who describes being able to see team schedules together and on mobile. It is hosted by Connecteam, so treat it as a vendor-selected customer view, not an independent review.

How to evaluate it before you buy

  1. Count your active employees and list the hubs you need. Price that combination on the live calculator for the monthly total, not the Operations tier alone.
  2. If you have 10 or fewer users, read the Small Business Plan terms to confirm your account qualifies.
  3. Map each must-have feature to a tier. Check geofencing, auto clock-out, schedule templates, automation, reporting and API needs against the Advanced and Expert lists.
  4. Confirm the payroll handoff. Ask which export format or integration your payroll provider accepts, and whether that requires a specific plan.
  5. Test the mobile workflow with a small group of frontline staff on real shifts, covering clock-in, breaks, overtime and open-shift claims.
  6. Ask Connecteam whether a trial or demo is available, and request its support terms in writing.

Bottom line on Connecteam

Connecteam is a reasonable shortlist candidate for hourly, frontline or field teams that want scheduling, time tracking, forms and team communication in one app and can accept a published, hub-based price structure. It is a weaker fit if you only need one function, if your payroll requires a specific integration you cannot confirm, or if you need proof of support quality and reliability before committing. Those points need checking with the vendor and with independent sources, not with the marketing pages alone.
