Overview

UXPressia brings journey mapping, persona work, impact maps, service blueprints, and CX Chunks into a platform for organizing customer-experience assets. That range suits teams whose work spans multiple CX methods; a team that only needs one kind of map may be paying for breadth it will not use. The product has been offered since 2015 and is web-based.

Key features

Templates for journey maps, impact maps, service blueprints, and personas provide a starting structure for common artifacts. Teams can collaborate on journey maps and personas both in real time and asynchronously, which supports live workshops as well as contributions made on different schedules.

AI features can generate journey maps and personas, import maps from images, support conversations with personas, and produce workspace insights. UXPressia says customer data is not used to train AI models and prompts and images are encrypted in transit using TLS. It does not provide dedicated AI instances for individual customers, so organizations that require a separate AI environment may need another solution.

Exports include PNG, PDF, CSV, and PPTX, but the available formats depend on the plan: Free includes PNG, Pro adds PDF and CSV, and Business adds PPTX. Business also connects to Google Analytics, Google Sheets, Mixpanel, Slack, Microsoft Teams, Jira, and Azure DevOps; Enterprise adds Qualtrics and other custom integrations. This makes the higher tiers more relevant when teams need data or workflow connections, while the lower tiers are more limited as handoffs become important.

UXPressia says it performs daily backups and regular vulnerability scans and security audits, and uses access logging, intrusion prevention, and a server-side firewall. Support is available by email and website live chat; email replies typically arrive within 24–48 hours on business days.

Pricing

The free plan is free. It allows up to 15 tags and three each of customer journey maps, personas, and impact maps, with email sharing with one user and PNG export. Those caps make it useful for a small evaluation or light individual use, but restrictive for ongoing work that accumulates assets or involves a team.

Pro costs 36.00 USD per month, billed per user. It removes limits on maps, personas, impact maps, and tags, and adds PDF and CSV export and live chat support. It is the practical step up for solo practitioners or teams that need more capacity, though per-user billing can add up as the number of collaborators grows.

Business costs 95.00 USD per month, billed per user. It includes Pro features plus a team library, reports, branding, PPTX export, and the listed analytics, collaboration, and project-management integrations. Teams that need shared asset management, branded outputs, or these connections have a clearer reason to choose Business; others may not need the higher per-user tier.

Enterprise has custom pricing and includes Business features plus SSO, MFA, provisioning, separate workspaces, IP whitelisting, and custom integrations. It is aimed at organizations needing administrative controls and workspace separation rather than simply more maps.

Platforms

UXPressia is available on the web.

Who it's for

The intended audience includes CX strategists, CX and UX designers and directors, digital consultants, business analysts, project managers, researchers, and HR professionals. It is a stronger fit for people who create or manage multiple experience artifacts collaboratively than for users seeking a single-purpose mapping tool.

Pros and cons

Pros

Several CX artifacts and templates in one workspace can keep related mapping work together.
Real-time and asynchronous collaboration on maps and personas accommodates different working rhythms.
Business adds PPTX export and a broad set of named integrations for teams connecting mapping work to analytics and project tools.
Free access provides a way to try the core asset types, with no paid commitment.

Cons

Free is capped at three maps, personas, and impact maps, and sharing is limited to one user, constraining sustained team use.
Pro and Business are billed per user, so costs rise with team size.
Export formats vary by tier, with PPTX reserved for Business.
No dedicated AI instance is offered for individual customers, which may not meet organizations requiring AI isolation.

Alternatives

For teams seeking a broader customer-experience management category, compare the Customer Experience Management Software directory. For a more focused set of journey-mapping options, see Customer Journey Mapping Software.

Choose Qualtrics instead if survey collection is the priority: its free plan is for one user and allows three active surveys with 500 total responses. QuestionPro is another survey-oriented option; its free Essentials plan supports one user and 200 responses per survey, while Advanced costs 99.00 USD per month billed annually and supports one user with 25K responses per survey.

Alida may suit teams seeking unlimited surveys, usability tests, and research activities under fixed subscription pricing with no per-participant fees stated. Webex Experience Management is a paid alternative available on web, iOS, and Android. Happ is a paid alternative available on web, iOS, and Android. omniXM is a paid alternative available on iOS and Android. OpenText Core Journey is a paid web and API option with custom pricing; contact OpenText for pricing and request a demo. CrossCX is a paid web alternative.

Verdict

UXPressia is a sound choice for CX and UX practitioners who need multiple mapping formats, templates, and collaboration in one web workspace. Its main advantage is the breadth of tools, with Business adding useful exports and integrations for connected team workflows. Look elsewhere if your needs center on survey collection, if you only require a single mapping format, or if the per-user tiers and free-plan caps do not fit your team.
