For a continuous prerecorded YouTube Live stream without keeping a computer running, choose a cloud playout service; for a stream you control locally, use an encoder on a computer or hardware device. Automatic reconnection is a provider claim, not a guarantee of uninterrupted broadcasting: the services below do not have independently verified, comparable reliability results in the available evidence. StreamNeo is the first option to consider: it loops uploaded video from the cloud, supports up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and offers a free first day.
First, distinguish viewer looping from a live broadcast
YouTube’s Loop control repeats a video or playlist for the person watching; it does not create a YouTube Live broadcast. YouTube documents viewer looping in its loop instructions, and looping behavior for embedded playback in the IFrame Player API documentation. A 24/7 prerecorded live stream instead needs an encoder feed. That encoder can run on your own equipment, or a cloud service can provide remote playout.
Cloud services and local encoding compared
The table separates documented product claims from platform guidance. Provider descriptions are not independent tests; no hands-on comparison or independently measured recovery results are established here.
| Option | What is documented | Recovery and reliability evidence | Key qualification |
|---|---|---|---|
| StreamNeo | Cloud looping of uploaded videos to YouTube, playlists, one always-on stream per slot, and output up to 4K 60fps as uploaded. | Automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream is a stated product feature; no independent comparative reliability measurement is established. | 10 GB storage per slot, pooled across active slots. Pricing and plan durations are below. |
| Streamloop | Its product page describes playlist-based 24/7 streaming to YouTube and other destinations, cloud operation, monitoring, automatic restart, and distributed workers. | The page advertises uptime above 99.9% and automatic restart. These are vendor claims, not independently verified results. | The accessed page lists an entry price of $4/month; confirm current terms, credits, and plans directly. Streamloop. |
| LiveGoLive | Its product pages describe continuous prerecorded streaming, multiple destinations, and output up to 4K60. | Automatic reconnection after network interruptions is a vendor claim; no independent uptime or recovery test is established. | Confirm current destinations, plan limits, and terms with LiveGoLive. |
| OneStream Live | Its Help Center article, last updated September 3, 2026, describes 24/7 streaming to YouTube. | Automatic reconnection details are not stated in the cited article. | The article says 24/7 streaming is exclusive to YouTube, requires Enterprise, and has a maximum allowed duration of 30 days. Recheck the Help Center article for current terms. |
| Loop Stream | Its product page advertises loop controls, playlist building, scheduling, and output up to 2160p. | Automatic reconnection evidence is not stated in the cited description. | Verify current plan details, trial eligibility, and limits with Loop Stream. |
| Local encoder | You run an encoder on a computer or hardware device and supply the YouTube stream URL and key. | You retain responsibility for the encoder, power, internet connection, monitoring, and recovery. YouTube suggests testing failover between encoders, but that does not establish a cloud service’s recovery behavior. | A hardware video encoder is an optional self-hosted route, not a requirement for cloud playout. |
How to judge automatic reconnection claims
“Automatic reconnection” can refer to different failures and different outcomes. A provider may mean restarting its playout after a network interruption, reconnecting to YouTube after ingest drops, or restarting a job after an internal failure. The cited vendor descriptions do not establish comparable definitions or independently measured recovery performance.

Before choosing a service, ask the provider:
- Which specific failure events trigger reconnection, and which require manual action?
- How quickly does the stream resume, and does it continue from the prior playlist position?
- Can you see stream status, interruptions, and recovery history?
- What destinations, scheduling options, maximum durations, and media formats apply to your plan?
- What happens if YouTube rejects the feed or the stream key changes?
Use YouTube’s own stream-health indicators during setup and operation. A vendor’s uptime figure or restart statement should be treated as a claim unless it is independently measured under stated conditions.
What YouTube requires from any continuous stream
A cloud provider does not remove YouTube’s ingest requirements. YouTube’s encoder workflow uses a stream URL and a stream key; the key functions like a password, so keep it private and reset it in Live Control Room if compromised. Follow the current encoder setup instructions and live stream settings guide.

Match output settings to your connection
YouTube recommends constant-bitrate encoding and supports RTMP/RTMPS ingest, H.264, H.265 (HEVC), or AV1 video, up to 60 fps, and AAC or MP3 audio. Its encoder settings, accessed October 3, 2026, give these H.264 examples:
| Output | Minimum bitrate | Recommended bitrate |
|---|---|---|
| 1080p at 30 fps, H.264 | 5 Mbps | 14 Mbps |
| 1080p at 60 fps, H.264 | 6 Mbps | 17 Mbps |
| 2160p (4K) at 30 fps, H.264 | 11 Mbps | 42 Mbps |
These are YouTube platform recommendations, not a promise that a particular internet connection or service will sustain them. For a locally run encoder, YouTube’s guidance accessed October 3, 2026 recommends 20% upload-bandwidth headroom above the total stream bitrate. Consult the live encoder settings and bitrate table for the chosen codec, resolution, and frame rate because recommendations can change.

Test and monitor the feed
Before relying on a long-running broadcast, test with representative audio and motion, verify the preview, and check stream health. YouTube’s live streaming tips also describe testing encoder failover by stopping the primary encoder or disconnecting its Ethernet cable and confirming playback rolls over to a backup encoder. That is a test procedure for an encoder workflow, not proof that a cloud vendor will fail over successfully.
Plan separately for archives
YouTube’s archive guidance accessed October 3, 2026 says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived; a stream longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all. If retaining a complete broadcast matters, arrange a separate recording or archive plan instead of assuming YouTube will preserve the full stream. See YouTube’s archive guidance.

Copyright and channel-policy checks still matter
Using prerecorded video does not itself establish that you have rights to stream it or that it complies with YouTube’s rules. Use media you own or are authorized to broadcast, and check music, visuals, and other included material before scheduling a continuous stream. A cloud service handles playout; it does not grant rights to the content or determine whether a channel complies with YouTube policies. Review YouTube’s current requirements in Live Control Room and use the copyright checklist linked above.
Or let it run in the cloud
With StreamNeo, upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. The cloud keeps the stream running without a computer or home connection left on; uploaded video streams as made up to 4K 60fps at one price per slot, and automatic recovery is included if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly is $9.99 per month. See StreamNeo or start the free first day.
