Cloudways’ public pricing page lists a DigitalOcean configuration from $11 per month, but that is a starting price for one specific server—not a guaranteed total for every setup. Its reviewed billing materials describe usage-based charges collected on monthly invoices and do not document a separate, higher fixed renewal rate after an introductory term. Your bill can change with provider, server size, runtime, bandwidth, add-ons and taxes.
What does Cloudways’ $11-per-month price include?
The Cloudways pricing page lists a DigitalOcean Micro server at $11 per month, with 2 GB RAM, 1 vCPU, 50 GB storage and 2 TB transfer bandwidth. The page also displays an hourly amount and promotional or feature messaging. These figures describe that listed configuration; they should not be applied to other providers, sizes or locations. Pricing is dynamic, so check the live page and your account estimate before choosing a server. Cloudways pricing

The price is for the server configuration, not necessarily the complete invoice. Add-ons, resource use beyond included allowances and applicable taxes can raise the amount due.

The reviewed Cloudways billing materials describe usage-based hosting billed on monthly invoices. They do not describe a conventional shared-hosting offer in which a discounted first contract automatically renews at a separately stated higher fixed price. On this evidence, there is no basis to say the listed $11 rate rises at renewal. Instead, the invoice reflects the resources and services used during the billing period, along with applicable charges and taxes. Cloudways billing guide

How billing differs by cloud provider
Cloudways’ March 2026 billing guide distinguishes providers by how a full month and partial month are charged:
| Provider | Billing behavior in the cited guide |
|---|---|
| DigitalOcean | Monthly cap when the server runs for the entire month; partial-month use is prorated by active hours. |
| Linode | Monthly cap when the server runs for the entire month; partial-month use is prorated by active hours. |
| Vultr | Monthly cap when the server runs for the entire month; partial-month use is prorated by active hours. |
| AWS | Hourly billing without a monthly cap. |
| Google Cloud Engine | Hourly billing without a monthly cap. |
These are billing rules stated in the cited guide, not a guarantee of a particular total. Check the current estimate for the exact provider, server size and location you intend to use. Cloudways billing details

- Save valuable floor space: 6U wall mount server cabinet Dimensions: 13.78" H x21.65" W x17.72" D.Maximum mounting depth is 14.2"
- Keep critical network equipment secure: glass door and side panels are lockable to prevent unauthorized access. Front door can be installed on either side of the front of the cabinet to satisfy your door swing orientation preference
- Easy equipment configuration: Fully adjustable mounting rails and numbered U positions, with square holes for easy equipment mounting with top and bottom punch-out panels for easy cable access
- Durability: Made of high quality cold rolled steel holds up to 110lb (50kg) (Easy Assembly Required)
- PCI & HIPPA and EIA/ECA-310-E compliant
What can increase the monthly invoice?
- Bandwidth and overages: Providers have different included bandwidth allowances and overage rules. Cloudways’ April 2026 guide gives different examples for DigitalOcean, Linode, Vultr, AWS and GCE; AWS and GCE bandwidth is usage-based, and GCE rates can vary by region. Check the current rate for your chosen location rather than assuming the $11 configuration’s transfer allowance applies universally. Bandwidth pricing
- Storage, backups and enabled services: Backup storage, email or DNS services, and other add-ons can affect the bill. Charges depend on what is enabled and used.
- Taxes: VAT, GST or other taxes depend on billing location and applicable local rules; they may appear on the invoice.
- Runtime and allocated resources: Charges depend on provider billing rules and how long resources remain allocated, including when a server is idle or stopped.
For Autonomous signups on or after November 11, 2025, Cloudways’ June 2026 guide describes a separate product with hourly per-application billing. It lists disk and bandwidth overages and autoscaling charges. If autoscaling pauses at a budget threshold, disk and bandwidth usage may still generate overages. Do not use Autonomous billing assumptions to estimate a Flexible server plan. Autonomous billing guide
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesWhy stopping a server may not stop charges
Cloudways’ June 2026 payment guide says stopping a DigitalOcean, Linode or Vultr server does not pause billing because resources such as IP addresses and disks remain assigned. Stopped AWS or GCE servers may still incur minimal storage charges. To fully stop server charges, the guide instructs customers to remove servers and cancel the account. Check the account and current provider terms before taking action. Cloudways account cancellation guide

How to compare Cloudways configurations
- Choose the provider and location. The provider affects whether a full-month cap applies and how bandwidth is billed.
- Compare the exact server resources. Check CPU, RAM, storage and included transfer beside the price for the configuration and location shown on the live pricing page.
- Estimate expected runtime. Consider whether the server will remain allocated all month, including while idle or stopped.
- Add usage and services. Account for expected bandwidth, storage, backups and any paid add-ons you plan to enable.
- Review the account estimate and taxes. Use the final estimate for your billing location instead of treating the starting price as your all-in total.
Is Cloudways worth $11 a month?
The listed $11 configuration gives a useful starting point for evaluating a small server, but price alone cannot establish whether it suits a particular site. The fit depends on whether its listed resources and transfer allowance meet your needs, which provider and location you choose, and what the full estimate includes. The available evidence establishes plan and billing details, not independent speed or uptime results, so it does not support a performance verdict.

Cloudways’ FAQ published July 29, 2026 describes a three-day trial. After the trial, charges depend on the selected infrastructure provider, server size, bandwidth and paid add-ons once the account is upgraded. Review the configuration and estimate before upgrading. Cloudways FAQ
