Cloudinary is not the only route: ScreenshotNeo is the first API to try for clean, billed-only captures; ScreenshotOne and Urlbox offer documented full-page strategies and controls; Browserless is a fit if you want a managed browser endpoint with Puppeteer-style options.
The right choice depends on how your pages behave. Lazy-loaded images, sticky headers, popups, animations and infinite scroll can all change the output. Vendor documentation describes useful controls, but it does not establish which service will capture your particular pages best. Test representative URLs before committing.
Which Cloudinary alternative should you try first?
ScreenshotNeo is the first API to try when you want a clean screenshot without setting up browser automation: it accepts cookie and consent banners before capture, removes more than 60 known consent platforms plus newsletter popups and chat widgets, and bills only clean shots. Each cleanup step can be turned off.
For other needs, ScreenshotOne documents both browser full-page and section-based capture; Urlbox documents scroll-and-stitch as its default plus a faster native mode; Browserless provides an HTTP screenshot endpoint with Puppeteer-style options. Choose based on the capture behavior and controls your pages require, rather than assuming a full-page option produces a complete rendering by itself.

What “full-page” needs to do
A browser can capture the page’s full document height, but content may not exist yet if it loads only when scrolled into view. A reliable workflow must allow the page to render, trigger lazy loading where needed, and then capture the result. For very long or dynamic pages, the capture algorithm matters as much as the full-page flag.
- Native full-page capture asks the browser to capture the full page in one operation. It can be faster, but vendor documentation warns it may be less accurate on some pages.
- Scroll-and-stitch capture scrolls through the page, captures sections and joins them. Scrolling can trigger lazy-loaded content, though fixed elements and page changes during scrolling may affect the seams or final image.
- Section-based capture captures discrete page sections. ScreenshotOne describes this as an alternative that can improve rendering quality in some cases, with potential performance trade-offs.
ScreenshotOne explicitly notes, “Rendering full-page screenshots reliably is a real challenge.” (ScreenshotOne documentation.) No provider’s documentation guarantees a perfect result on every site.

Supports MCP tools for AI agents. | Free: 1,000 shots/month, no card. Starter: $5 for 3,000; Growth: $15 for 15,000; Pro: $39 for 60,000; Scale: $99 for 250,000; Business: $249 for 1,000,000. Yearly billing gives two months free. |
| ScreenshotOne | full_page=true automatically enables scrolling to trigger lazy-loaded content unless overridden. Also offers section-based capture. |
Its guide suggests viewport tuning, scroll timing, reducing motion and longer waits. Vendor says section capture may improve quality in some cases, but can affect performance. | As listed on its pricing page checked 2026-10-03: up to 100 free screenshots/month; Basic $17/month for 2,000; Growth $79/month for 10,000; Scale $259/month for 50,000. Successful renders not served from cache count toward quota; visual issues still count. |
| Urlbox | Default stitch mode scrolls, captures sections and stitches them; native uses browser full-page capture and is faster, but may be less accurate on some sites. |
Docs describe scroll increments and delays, section limits, fixed/sticky elements, popups, infinite scroll, horizontal width and maximum image height. JPEG and WebP have format-specific dimension limits; Urlbox recommends PNG for full-page output when those limits matter. | As listed on its pricing page checked 2026-10-03: Lo-Fi $19/month for up to 2,000 renders; Hi-Fi $49/month for up to 5,000; Ultra $99/month for up to 15,000; Business $498/month with its listed render arrangement. Prices exclude VAT; tier inclusions vary. |
| Browserless | HTTP screenshot endpoint; set fullPage: true. For lazy-loaded content, its docs recommend scrollPage: true before capture along with options.fullPage: true. |
Puppeteer-style choices include PNG/JPEG, quality, clipping, viewport, device scale factor and element selectors. Useful if browser automation control is important; pricing and quotas are not stated in the cited screenshot documentation. | Not stated in the cited screenshot documentation. |

For documented full-page strategies
Consider ScreenshotOne if you want a section-based option alongside browser full-page capture and controls such as scroll timing. Consider Urlbox if its documented stitch/native modes and controls for sticky elements, popups, scrolling and image dimensions match your page behavior. The documentation does not establish which is more accurate for your URL; test both modes or providers on pages that represent your actual workload.
For browser-automation-style requests
Browserless is a relevant option if Puppeteer-style screenshot configuration is useful to your workflow. Its endpoint exposes options for viewport, output format, clipping and selectors; the cited screenshot documentation does not provide a directly comparable price or quota, so check its current service terms separately.

Match plan limits to the job
Do not compare monthly render counts as if they were identical units. Providers describe quotas differently, and features may depend on tier. Urlbox’s pricing page distinguishes tiers by third-party website capture level and features; its prices exclude VAT. ScreenshotOne says cached results do not count toward quota, while visual issues still count. ScreenshotNeo bills only clean shots; bot checks/CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads and cache hits cost nothing. Confirm the billing definition and the specific features you need before estimating monthly spend.
Test full-page output before switching
- Choose representative URLs. Include a short page, a long article with lazy images, a page with sticky navigation or popups, and any page that scrolls indefinitely.
- Wait for meaningful readiness. A navigation-complete event may happen before client-side content appears. Use a provider’s selector wait, delay or network-idle option where available, and tune scroll delays when the service exposes them.
- Compare the rendered image, not the flag. Check the bottom of the page, lazy-loaded images, section seams, repeated sticky headers, overlays and any content clipped at the edges.
- Check output constraints. Very tall pages can hit dimension limits or create unwieldy files. Urlbox documents format-specific JPEG and WebP dimension limits and recommends PNG when full-page dimensions matter; verify the current limits in its documentation.
- Measure real workload and billing. Repeat captures at the frequency you expect, note cache behavior and count only the outputs your application can use. A page-specific failure or visual defect can matter more than a nominally generous quota.

Common full-page capture problems
Images or sections are missing
The page may load them only after scrolling. Enable the provider’s scroll behavior where available: ScreenshotOne’s full-page mode enables scrolling by default unless overridden; Urlbox stitch mode scrolls through the page; Browserless recommends scrollPage: true with full-page capture. A longer per-scroll delay or a wait for a page-specific selector may help when content needs additional time.
Sticky headers appear repeatedly or seams look wrong
Scroll-and-stitch captures can include fixed elements in multiple sections. Check the provider’s controls for fixed/sticky elements or section behavior; Urlbox documents settings for fixed and sticky elements. Test native capture as an alternative where available, while accounting for its documented accuracy trade-off.
The page never settles or keeps getting taller
Animations can change a page during capture, and infinite scroll may make the page grow without a natural endpoint. Reduce motion or wait for a stable selector where supported; for endless feeds, define a bounded capture strategy rather than expecting an unbounded page to finish. ScreenshotOne recommends reducing motion and adjusting waits; Urlbox documents infinite-scroll options.

The request times out or the output is too large
Long pages take more time and can exceed image dimensions. Try a less ambitious viewport or a bounded section strategy, reduce unnecessary page content, or use a format and dimensions supported by the provider. Check the service’s current timeouts and output limits; the cited materials do not establish one shared limit across providers.
The screenshot is blank or shows a bot check
The target site may reject automated traffic, fail to render, or return a challenge instead of the requested page. Check the provider’s page verdict or error response and verify the URL in a normal browser. ScreenshotNeo identifies page verdict and billing status in response headers and does not bill bot checks/CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts or failed loads.
What else can Urlbox output?
Urlbox’s general documentation describes URL and HTML input and outputs including screenshots, PDFs, video, text, HTML and metadata. It lists use cases such as website galleries, advertising assets, archiving, previews and pre-release screenshot checks. These additional outputs may matter if your workflow goes beyond full-page images; see the Urlbox documentation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can Cloudinary alternatives capture a specific element instead of the whole page?
Yes. ScreenshotNeo supports capturing an element by CSS selector, Browserless documents element selectors, and Browserless also supports clipping. Confirm the exact request syntax in the provider’s current API documentation.
Can I use an API for full-page PDFs as well as images?
ScreenshotNeo supports PDF output, and Urlbox documents PDF output. Their options differ, so check each provider’s current documentation for page size, margins and other PDF controls.
