Clockify vs. Harvest: Is Clockify the Best Alternative for Your Team?

Clockify may work better for teams prioritizing free capacity and flexible time entry; Harvest may suit businesses that rely on built-in invoicing and accounting connections. Compare real limits and workflows before switching.
Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Clockify can be a strong Harvest alternative if your priority is a larger free allowance, more ways to record time, or seat-based pricing. Harvest may be the better fit if you depend on creating invoices from tracked time and connecting billing to accounting and payment tools. The right choice depends on your team size, project and invoice volume, required features, and existing billing workflow—not a universal winner.

Clockify vs. Harvest at a glance

What matters Clockify Harvest
Free-plan capacity Clockify’s migration guide lists up to five users, unlimited projects, clients, and tasks, and basic reporting. It says invoicing is not included on Free. Confirm current limits and features on Clockify’s live plan page. Harvest lists one seat and two projects on Free, with time tracking, invoicing, and expense tracking.
Paid pricing Seat-based plans; the listed prices vary by plan and monthly versus annual billing. Teams and Enterprise are priced per seat, with annual and monthly rates. Some invoices, projects, clients, and tasks may be billed based on usage.
Time-entry options described by the vendor Timer, GPS, timesheet, Auto tracker, Kiosk, Pomodoro, and calendar. Timer, timesheet, and calendar.
Invoicing and accounting The migration guide describes invoicing as a different workflow and mentions connections with Xero or QuickBooks; verify the current integration and plan details. Invoicing is listed in its plans. Harvest lists Stripe, QuickBooks Online, Xero, and Deel for Teams among its accounting and payment connections.

These are vendor-published product details, not results from independent testing. Feature availability and plan terms can change. See Clockify’s pricing page, Harvest’s pricing page, and Clockify’s Harvest alternative guide before making a decision.

Which free plan fits your team?

The free tiers are structured differently. Clockify’s migration guide says its Free plan supports up to five users and unlimited projects, clients, and tasks, with basic reporting. It says invoicing is not supported on that plan. Harvest’s pricing page lists one seat and two projects on Free, along with time tracking, invoicing, expense tracking, and Mac and iOS apps.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

For a team that needs several people to track time across many projects, Clockify’s stated free capacity may be more useful. For a solo user with a small project portfolio who wants invoicing included, Harvest’s free plan may suit better. Compare the limits against the way your business actually works: number of active users, projects, clients, tasks, and invoices, plus whether you need paid-plan features.

How much do Clockify and Harvest cost?

The prices below are those listed on the vendors’ pricing pages as accessed in 2026. They are per seat per month; annual-billing figures require paying annually, while the other figures are monthly billing. Recheck the live pages before subscribing, because pricing and plan contents can change.

Product and plan Annual billing Monthly billing
Clockify Basic $3.99 per seat/month $4.99 per seat/month
Clockify Pro $7.99 per seat/month $9.99 per seat/month
Clockify Enterprise $11.99 per seat/month $14.99 per seat/month
Clockify Productivity Suite $12.99 per seat/month $15.99 per seat/month
Harvest Teams $9 per seat/month ($108 per seat annually) $11 per seat/month
Harvest Enterprise $14 per seat/month ($168 per seat annually) $17.50 per seat/month

Harvest says annual billing receives a 20% discount. Its pricing page also says that additional invoices, projects, clients, and tasks may be billed based on usage. Clockify’s pricing page says active or invited users listed on a team page occupy paid seats, while deactivated users do not. Therefore, a useful cost comparison needs more than the advertised seat rate: include the plan features you require, active and invited users, project and invoice volume, applicable usage charges, and billing cadence.

Which time-tracking and team features matter?

Clockify describes a broader set of tracking modes, including GPS, Auto tracker, Kiosk, and Pomodoro in addition to timer, timesheet, and calendar. Those options may matter for teams tracking work across locations, shared devices, or different routines. Harvest’s migration guide lists timer, timesheet, and calendar. Because the feature descriptions come from Clockify’s vendor-authored comparison, confirm the exact features and plan requirements directly with each vendor rather than treating the comparison as independent testing.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Plan level also matters beyond time entry. Harvest lists custom reports, profitability reporting, timesheet approvals, activity logs, SAML-based SSO, and required time-entry notes on Enterprise. Its Teams plan includes team reporting. The supplied plan details do not establish a direct, plan-by-plan comparison of Clockify’s reporting, budgets, forecasting, approvals, or administrative controls; check Clockify’s live feature matrix against your requirements before switching.

How do invoicing and integrations compare?

Harvest is the clearer fit if you want invoicing built into the time-tracking product: invoicing is listed on its plans, and the Teams plan includes accounting and payment integrations. Harvest names Stripe, QuickBooks Online, Xero, and Deel for Teams. Confirm whether your specific integration and required workflow are available on the plan you intend to use.

Clockify’s migration guide says its Free plan does not support invoicing and describes a different invoicing and accounting workflow, including connections with Xero or QuickBooks. That does not establish that every connection, invoicing feature, or accounting workflow is available on every Clockify plan. Before switching, map how tracked time becomes an approved billable amount, how an invoice reaches a client, how payment is collected, and how finalized billing data reaches your accounting system. Verify each step in the current product documentation.

How to switch from Harvest to Clockify

Clockify says it can import past tracked time, clients, projects, and team members from Harvest. Treat that as a starting point, not proof that the new account will reproduce every report, invoice, integration, or administrative setting. Test the transfer and reconcile records before using Clockify for a live billing cycle.

  1. Map what must move. List the time history, clients, projects, team members, billable rates, and connected workflows you rely on. Identify records or settings that are not among the data types Clockify specifically says it can import.
  2. Check plan fit first. Compare your user count and project, client, task, and invoice volumes with the current limits and charges on both vendors’ pricing pages. Confirm that your required tracking, reporting, and integrations are available on the Clockify plan you would use.
  3. Run a test import. Follow Clockify’s current Harvest import guidance in a test account or other non-live workflow if available. Do not assume that the imported data includes invoice records or every custom setting; those are not among the data types specified in Clockify’s statement.
  4. Reconcile the results. Compare representative time entries, client and project records, team members, and relevant reports between Harvest and Clockify. Investigate missing, duplicated, or differently categorized data before relying on the new account.
  5. Validate billing end to end. Test how billable time is reviewed, converted into invoices, sent or paid, and passed to accounting. Confirm that rates, totals, and the resulting records match your expected workflow.
  6. Switch only after the test passes. Keep your existing billing process in place until the data and invoice checks are complete, then choose a clear transition point for the team.
