What kind of game is Hellraiser: Revival?
Saber describes Hellraiser: Revival as a single-player, first-person action-horror survival game. You play Aidan, who uses the Genesis Configuration in an attempt to save his girlfriend, Sunny, from the Labyrinth. The official pitch combines puzzle-box abilities with earthly weapons, environmental puzzles, and enemies including wretches, deviants, cultists, and priests. How does the story fit into Hellraiser?
The game draws on the atmosphere, themes, and mythology of the first two Hellraiser films, but it tells a new story that is not directly connected to them, according to executive producer Nenad Tomic in Xbox Wire’s interview. Tomic says Clive Barker was involved from the beginning. That distinction matters: the game is rooted in the franchise’s ideas, but its plot is not presented as a direct continuation of those films.

Game director Emil Esov describes the Scarlet Church, led by Marlowe, as a group seeking contact with the Cenobites and hoping to use the box to create a “debauched paradise.” The Unworthy, meanwhile, are rejected beings from the Labyrinth drawn to the Genesis Configuration. Esov’s PlayStation Blog post frames the Cenobites as more morally complicated than ordinary horror villains, writing: “Hellraiser separates itself from other pieces of horror media by having villains, the Cenobites, who aren’t so easily viewed as being morally bad.”

What does the demo show—and what does it not prove?
The free Steam demo released September 17, 2026. It covers the prologue and part of Episode 1, introducing puzzle solving, crafting, and combat. Steam warns that the demo is a pre-release build and that progress will not carry over to the full game. Its review percentage is a snapshot of reactions to that demo, not a score for the released game. The demo listing has the details.
In a hands-on report, Meristation describes two kinds of sequences in the preview build: exploration, stealth, puzzles, and combat, alongside more linear, dreamlike passages with jump scares and shifting environments. The previewer found the controls somewhat clumsy and the enemy AI in need of improvement, and preferred exploration to action. These are impressions of the demonstrated version; they do not establish how the final release handles or performs.

When does it release, and where can you play?
Saber lists an October 8, 2026 release for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and Steam. The date is one day after this article’s October 7, 2026 information cutoff, so the game is still pre-release here. No platform performance comparison is established by the available previews.

Saber estimates a playthrough at around 8–12 hours and says post-launch content is not planned “at this time.” Steam displayed the following US-dollar prices when checked on October 7, 2026; storefront prices can vary by region and change over time.

What are the PC requirements?
The two official listings disagree on the minimum processor and storage, so there is no single unambiguous minimum specification to rely on from these pages. Both specify Windows 10 64-bit (22H2 or later), 8 GB of minimum memory, and graphics in the GTX 1660/RX Vega 64 class. Steam recommends an SSD.

The ESRB rates the game M for Mature 17+, citing Blood and Gore, Intense Violence, Nudity, Strong Language, Strong Sexual Content, and Use of Drugs. Its rating summary describes first-person traversal, puzzle solving, and combat with melee weapons, guns, and magic, alongside graphic torture and violence. The Steam content disclosure also names torture, suicide, domestic abuse, BDSM practices, and addiction among the game’s themes, as well as mature language, violence, gore, consensual mutilation, drug and alcohol abuse, tobacco use, and non-explicit consensual sex. Consult the ESRB rating and Steam content disclosure if those subjects matter to your decision.
