Citrix has issued fixes for CVE-2026-107406, a critical memory-overflow vulnerability in NetScaler ADC and NetScaler Gateway that could lead to remote code execution (RCE) or denial of service. Whether a customer-managed appliance is affected depends on its exact build, SAML service-provider (SP) or identity-provider (IdP) role, and release track. Administrators should compare all three with Citrix’s security bulletin and upgrade to the applicable fixed build.
What the NetScaler vulnerability does
Citrix classifies CVE-2026-107406 as a memory overflow (CWE-119) with potential for remote code execution or denial of service. The bulletin rates it Critical and gives it a CVSS v4.0 base score of 9.5, with the vector CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:H/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:H/VI:H/VA:H/SC:H/SI:H/SA:L. The bulletin was published on October 8, 2026. It does not establish whether the flaw is being exploited in the wild, so exploitation status should be treated as unverified.

Which NetScaler builds may be affected
Applicability is not the same across every build. For the ranges listed below, Citrix says the affected configuration is SAML IdP only. On earlier versions, either a SAML SP or IdP configuration can meet the stated condition.
Listed ranges: SAML IdP only
| Product track | Potentially affected builds | Fixed threshold |
|---|---|---|
| Standard NetScaler ADC and Gateway 14.1 | 14.1-73.37 through 14.1-73.41, inclusive | 14.1-73.46 and later 14.1 releases |
| NetScaler ADC 14.1-FIPS | 14.1-73.37 FIPS through 14.1-73.41 FIPS, inclusive | 14.1-73.46 FIPS and later releases |
| Standard NetScaler ADC and Gateway 13.1 | 13.1-64.23 through 13.1-64.28, inclusive | 13.1-64.29 and later 13.1 releases |
| NetScaler ADC 13.1-FIPS/NDcPP | 13.1-37.279 through 13.1-37.282, inclusive | 13.1.37.283 and later releases |
Earlier builds: SAML SP or IdP
| Product track | Potentially affected builds | Fixed threshold |
|---|---|---|
| Standard NetScaler ADC and Gateway 14.1 | Before 14.1-73.37 | 14.1-73.46 and later 14.1 releases |
| NetScaler ADC 14.1-FIPS | Before 14.1-73.37 FIPS | 14.1-73.46 FIPS and later releases |
| Standard NetScaler ADC and Gateway 13.1 | Before 13.1-64.23 | 13.1-64.29 and later 13.1 releases |
| NetScaler ADC 13.1-FIPS/NDcPP | Before 13.1-37.279 | 13.1.37.283 and later releases |
These are Citrix’s stated applicability ranges and recommended fixed thresholds. Confirm the appliance’s product and compliance track before choosing an update; standard, FIPS, and NDcPP builds do not share identical version numbering.

How to check your appliance
- Identify the installed build and track. Record the exact ADC or Gateway version, including whether the appliance uses a FIPS or NDcPP release.
- Check for SAML configuration entries. Citrix identifies
add authentication samlActionas a SAML SP action andadd authentication samlIdPProfileas a SAML IdP profile. Search the appliance configuration for the relevant entries using your normal configuration-review process. - Match role and build to the tables. For the listed ranges, the condition is IdP-only. For builds earlier than the listed lower bounds, Citrix’s condition includes either SP or IdP. Use the table for the exact product track.
- Upgrade if the appliance meets an affected condition. Install the corresponding fixed threshold or a later release in that track, following Citrix’s upgrade guidance. Citrix urges affected customers to install the updates as soon as possible.
Finding a SAML entry by itself does not determine exposure: the build and track matter too. If the appliance is partitioned, review the configuration across partitions as part of the assessment.
Customer-managed appliances and Citrix-managed services
The bulletin’s customer action applies to customer-managed NetScaler ADC and NetScaler Gateway appliances. Citrix says it updates Citrix-managed cloud services and Adaptive Authentication itself. Secure Private Access Hybrid deployments that use NetScaler instances are specifically called out: upgrade those instances according to the applicable build track.

SAML hardening is separate from installing the fix
Citrix’s SAML configuration reference recommends restricting an SP’s relayStateRule to published domains associated with the authentication flow and setting an IdP’s acsURLRule to match the relevant service-provider URL. These are broader configuration safeguards, not a substitute for moving an affected appliance to a fixed build.
