Cisco’s page reports 4.5 out of 5 stars from 152 verified Webex Suite reviews, attributed to Gartner Peer Insights and dated March 2025. That is a limited customer-review signal, not a current, independent verdict on Cisco business calling.
This review focuses on Webex Calling, Cisco’s cloud business phone system. It explains what the rating does and does not establish, what the service includes, and what to check before comparing its price with another phone system.

What the Cisco phone system rating actually measures
Cisco’s Webex on-premises and cloud page reported a rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars from 152 verified Webex Suite customer reviews, attributed to Gartner Peer Insights and dated March 2025. The figure is vendor-presented, applies to the broader Webex Suite, and is not a phone-only rating or an independently audited measure of all Cisco phone-system subscribers. It also does not, by itself, show what reviewers praised or criticized.
The available evidence does not establish a balanced, current sample of independent reviews specifically about Webex Calling subscribers. So it would be misleading to turn this rating into a claim about call quality, customer support, reliability, or overall satisfaction with the phone service. Cisco’s product page says, “We take care of the Webex Cloud so you can focus on what matters most.” That is Cisco’s product-page wording, not independently verified evidence of a service outcome.

What Webex Calling is
Webex Calling is Cisco’s cloud-based business phone system. Users can place calls through the Webex app on desktop or mobile, or through compatible Cisco IP phones. Cisco lists the 6800, 7800, and 8800 Series as supported phone families; that family-level statement does not guarantee compatibility for every handset model, hardware revision, or configuration. Confirm the exact phone and deployment before buying or planning to reuse equipment.
Cisco also identifies the ATA 190 Series as an adapter that connects one analog device to cloud calling. Whether an analog endpoint will work depends on the specific service and use case, so verify both before selecting an adapter.

Price and the costs a headline subscription can miss
Webex’s US pricing page displayed the Webex Call plan at $15.30 per user per month with annual billing, or $183.60 per user per year, at the research time in October 2026. The displayed plan includes unlimited domestic calling; international calls are billed per minute. This is a US pricing snapshot, not a quote for every geography or billing arrangement. Check current pricing, taxes, promotions, billing terms, and international rates before making a decision.
The subscription is only one part of the cost. Cisco’s product terms say customers need local, long-distance, emergency-dialing, and direct-inward-dial PSTN service through Cisco or an approved third party. Provider charges, implementation, ongoing support, and any migration work should therefore be included in a comparison. Cisco does not establish that the displayed subscription price includes every PSTN or deployment cost.

Requirements to check before choosing Webex Calling
Confirm the PSTN provider and emergency-calling setup
Decide how the service will provide PSTN connectivity and local numbers, and confirm what emergency-dialing support applies to your deployment. Cisco warns that VoIP can be used wherever an internet connection is available, so a caller’s number does not necessarily identify the caller’s physical location. Verify how locations and emergency-calling information will be configured and maintained, particularly if people work from multiple sites or remotely.
Match licenses to users and devices
Cisco Webex Help’s July 2026 licensing documentation says a Standard licensed user may have a physical device or soft clients, but not both. Other license types and entitlements differ. Check the current entitlement for each user’s intended setup rather than assuming a single license covers both a desk phone and app-based calling.
Rank #4
- This multiplatform phone firmware enables the 8800 Series to work with approved third-party call control systems
- Phones ordered as multiplatform phones do not work with Cisco call control (CUCM)
Check the exact phone and migration needs
Confirm the precise handset SKU and configuration with Cisco or the relevant provider, especially when reusing existing phones. Also account for any analog devices and the work required to migrate users, numbers, and calling arrangements. A supported phone family alone is not proof that a particular device is ready to provision in your environment.
How to compare Cisco calling with another phone system
A meaningful comparison needs more than a per-user price. Use the same user count, endpoint mix, locations, calling needs, and deployment assumptions for each option.

| Comparison area | What to establish |
|---|---|
| Deployment | Whether the option is cloud, on-premises, or hybrid, and who operates and administers the infrastructure. Cisco describes cloud and on-premises paths in its collaboration materials. |
| License and user setup | Which license or workspace entitlement applies, what features it includes, and whether the user needs a physical phone, soft client, or both. |
| PSTN and emergency calling | Who supplies PSTN service, what local numbers are needed, and how emergency dialing and caller locations are configured. |
| Total cost | Subscription billing period, international call charges, PSTN or provider charges, implementation, migration, and ongoing support. |
| Endpoints | Exact phone model compatibility, reuse of current equipment, analog-device requirements, provisioning, and seller or provider support. |
| Subscriber evidence | Review date and count, whether reviews are verified, and whether they concern Webex Calling specifically or the broader Webex Suite. |
Cisco describes cloud and on-premises options in its collaboration materials, and its Flex Plan 3.0 data sheet, dated June 18, 2026, provides broader deployment and partner context. Those materials describe available approaches; they do not establish that one deployment model is best for every organization.
Who should consider Webex Calling?
Webex Calling is worth evaluating if your organization wants a cloud business phone service and its calling, endpoint, licensing, and PSTN arrangements fit your needs. Cisco lists partners that integrate, build, sell, renew, and consult on collaboration services, so organizations seeking deployment or migration assistance can also investigate the partner route.
For a desk-phone setup, “Cisco IP phone” is the relevant hardware category, but check the exact model, licensing and provisioning requirements, and seller support before purchasing. For organizations retaining an analog endpoint, confirm that the ATA 190 Series and the intended service configuration support that particular use.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsVerdict
The available subscriber-review evidence is not strong enough to make a general claim that Cisco phone-system subscribers are satisfied or dissatisfied: the published 4.5-star figure covers Webex Suite, not Webex Calling specifically, and is dated March 2025. Treat Webex Calling as a service to assess against your own deployment, license, endpoint, PSTN, and emergency-calling requirements—not as a choice validated by that rating alone.
