To add a website shortcut to your Android home screen from Chrome, open the page, tap More (the three-dot menu), choose Install and create shortcut, then Create shortcut. Name it if you like and tap Add. A shortcut with the Chrome logo opens in Chrome.
How to add a shortcut link to your Android home screen

Open Chrome on your Android device and go to the website or specific page you want to save.

Tap Install and create shortcut, then tap Create shortcut.

In the dialog, keep the suggested name or edit it so you can recognize the link.

Tap Add. The shortcut appears on your device’s home screen.

Use Create shortcut when you want a home-screen link that opens a website or page. Chrome may also offer Install when a website is available as a web app; that is a separate action, not another name for a shortcut.

What if the shortcut option is missing?
Chrome’s documented menu labels may not appear identically on every device. Check the current options in Chrome and follow the choice that matches your goal: Create shortcut for a link, or Install for an offered web app. Google’s guidance does not establish one universal fix for a missing option across Android versions, launchers, and device makers, so consult current Chrome or device help if the menu differs.
Home-screen shortcut versus Chrome New Tab shortcut
A home-screen shortcut is placed on the Android device’s home screen. Chrome also lets you add custom shortcuts to its New Tab page, but those are created inside Chrome by entering a name and URL; they are a different feature and do not sync to other devices.

Remove a shortcut or web app
Removing an item from the home screen is not the same as uninstalling an app. If you installed a web app rather than created a shortcut, use Android’s app-management controls when you intend to uninstall it.
