Google said the iOS Stable build would be available on the App Store within hours, but that announcement does not mean every device had received it. If you do not see version 155 yet, staged distribution is the reason to wait and check again—not evidence that the release is missing.
Chrome 155 availability by platform
Google’s September 30 release notices distinguish an initial Stable rollout from broader availability. At the October 3, 2026 research timestamp, Chrome 155 had started its early Stable rollout on desktop and Android; the regular Stable notices dated October 1 still listed Chrome 154 for those platforms.

| Platform | Chrome 155 status in Google’s notices | What that means |
|---|---|---|
| Windows and Mac | Released to a small percentage of users in an early Stable update on September 30, 2026. Google gave no numerical share. Google Chrome Releases | Some users may see version 155 before others; the notice does not establish broad availability. |
| Android | Released to a small percentage of users on September 30, with Google Play availability expected over the next few days. No exact date or numerical share was stated. Google Chrome Releases | Availability can expand through Google Play, but the notice does not promise when it will reach a particular device. |
| iOS | Google said on September 30 that Chrome Stable 155 would be available on the App Store within the next few hours. Google Chrome Releases | This was an announced store window, not confirmation that every iPhone or iPad had already received the update. |
| Linux | The October 1 regular Stable notice listed Chrome 154. The cited Chrome 155 early Stable notice covers Windows and Mac, not Linux. Google Chrome Releases | The cited notices do not establish a Chrome 155 Linux rollout. |
Why Chrome 155 may not appear yet
Google described the Windows, Mac, and Android release as going to a “small percentage” of users first. It did not publish the percentage, a user-by-user schedule, or exact regional timing. A release can therefore be announced while an individual’s update option still shows an older version. The September 30 Android post said wider Google Play availability was expected over the next few days, but did not guarantee a date for any device. Desktop notice · Android notice

Check for the update
- On Windows or Mac: Open Chrome and go to Help > About Google Chrome. The page checks the installed version and update status; if an update is offered, follow Chrome’s prompt.
- On Android: Open Google Play, search for Google Chrome, and check whether an update is offered.
- On iPhone or iPad: Open the App Store, search for Google Chrome, and check whether an update is offered.
If the store or About page does not offer version 155, check again later. Google’s notices do not specify an exact arrival time for each account, device, or region.

What the release notices say about changes
Google characterized the Android and iOS Chrome 155 builds as containing stability and performance improvements. The notices did not provide a measured performance gain or an exhaustive list of user-facing Stable changes. The Chrome 155 beta announcement is for a different release channel, so features listed there should not be assumed to have shipped in Stable. Chrome Stable moved from a four-week to a two-week release cadence beginning with Chrome 153 in September 2026. Google said the aim is to deliver features, performance improvements, and bug fixes faster. That cadence helps explain why version numbers can advance in quick succession, but it does not mean every platform or user gets a specific version at once.
