Compare specific models on your own tasks, then check the price, data terms, service availability and support for the exact product and account you plan to use. Recent US government testing found DeepSeek V4 Pro competitive on some benchmarks and behind leading US models on others; those results do not establish which model will work best for your company.
Which AI model is best for my business in Pakistan?
The best choice is the model that reliably completes your important tasks at an acceptable total cost and under data and contract terms your business can accept. “Chinese AI” and “US AI” are not single products: capability, pricing, access, deployment options and data practices differ by provider, model version and service plan.

Use the comparison below as a shortlist of questions, not a country-by-country ranking. Pakistan-specific availability, payment, support and Urdu performance are not established by the evaluations discussed here.
| What to compare | What to verify for the exact model and service |
|---|---|
| Task quality | How often it meets your acceptance criteria on representative customer-service, writing, document-search, spreadsheet, coding or other relevant tasks. |
| Language fit | Quality on your real English, Urdu-script and Roman Urdu inputs, assessed by people who understand the intended audience. |
| Total cost | API or subscription charges plus retrieval, hosting, retries, integration and human review—not token rates alone. |
| Data and contract terms | Whether prompts and outputs are used for training, how long they are retained, where they are processed, deletion options and contractual security controls. |
| Operational fit | Availability for the specific Pakistan-based account, payment route, latency, rate limits, support escalation, continuity commitments, integrations and deployment requirements. |
What do the latest model comparisons actually show?
The Center for AI Standards and Innovation (CAISI) evaluated DeepSeek V4 Pro in April 2026 and published its findings on May 1, 2026. Its evaluation covered cyber, software engineering, natural sciences, abstract reasoning and mathematics. CAISI called V4 Pro the most capable PRC-developed model it had evaluated across those domains, while estimating its aggregate capability at roughly the level of GPT-5, released about eight months earlier. DeepSeek’s own comparison placed it closer to newer US models; that is a separate, company-reported claim, not CAISI’s conclusion.
#1 Best Overall
The selected CAISI results below show why a single benchmark—or national label—cannot settle a business decision. Percentages are results from the named benchmark in CAISI’s evaluation, not forecasts of business outcomes or interchangeable measures of general intelligence.
| Benchmark | DeepSeek V4 Pro | OpenAI GPT-5.4 mini | Anthropic Opus 4.6 | OpenAI GPT-5.5 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| SWE-Bench Verified | 74% | 73% | 79% | 81% |
| GPQA-Diamond | 90% | 87% | 91% | 96% |
| ARC-AGI-2 semi-private set | 46% | Not reported in CAISI’s table | 63% | 79% |
| OTIS-AIME-2025 | 97% | 90% | 92% | 100% |
These are CAISI’s reported figures for the named models and benchmark configurations. They indicate varying strengths across coding, scientific reasoning and mathematics; they do not show how well a model will handle your company’s documents, customer conversations or local language mix.
Older results are not a current product ranking
In a November 2025 evaluation, CAISI described Moonshot AI’s open-weight Kimi K2 Thinking as the most capable model from a PRC-based developer it had evaluated at that time, while still behind leading US models overall. On SWE-Bench Verified, CAISI reported 56.2% for Kimi K2 Thinking, 63.0% for GPT-5 and 66.7% for Anthropic Opus 4; on OTIS-AIME 2025, it reported 84.3%, 91.9% and 66.7%, respectively. These are results for 2025 releases, not a ranking of 2026 offerings. CAISI also found language-related differences in its censorship evaluation of that particular Kimi model; that finding should not be generalized to all Chinese models or to everyday user experience.
Other snapshots age quickly too. Recorded Future’s Insikt Group described Chinese frontier models as likely three to six months behind US state-of-the-art counterparts in a 2025 assessment based on ratings, benchmarks and expert views at the time. Artificial Analysis’s Q1 2025 comparison noted that some frontier-level results were company claims or comparable results and that limited access or evaluation data excluded models. Neither is a current, comprehensive head-to-head ranking.
Rank #2
Are Chinese AI models cheaper than ChatGPT or Claude?
Not necessarily for every task. In CAISI’s 2026 cost analysis, DeepSeek V4 Pro was less expensive than GPT-5.4 mini on five of the seven benchmark tasks that could be compared. Its measured cost ranged from 53% less to 41% more than GPT-5.4 mini, using the evaluated systems and developer-reported token prices. CAISI excluded two benchmarks from its cost analysis for stated methodological or technical reasons.
For that evaluation, CAISI used DeepSeek V4 Pro rates of $1.74 per million uncached input tokens, $0.0145 per million cached input tokens and $3.48 per million output tokens. For GPT-5.4 mini, it used $0.75, $0.075 and $4.50 per million, respectively. These were developer-reported rates used in CAISI’s published comparison, not a live quote for a Pakistani business. Prices, eligibility, billing and taxes can change, so verify current provider terms before committing.
Measure the cost per accepted result on your workflow. A lower input-token price may not save money if the model needs more retries, extra retrieval or more staff time to correct its output. Include any hosting, integration, reviewer time and payment or currency charges that apply to your account.

Which model understands Urdu and Roman Urdu best?
The available comparisons do not establish a winner for Urdu or Roman Urdu. Do not infer language quality from a provider’s country, from English-language benchmarks or from a model’s general reputation. Test Urdu script and Roman Urdu separately, alongside English if your customers or staff use all three.
Rank #3
Build a small evaluation set from low-risk, representative work: customer questions, product descriptions, internal document searches or bilingual drafts. Define what a correct and acceptable answer means before testing. Have reviewers fluent in the relevant language and familiar with the audience score accuracy, tone, omissions and potentially harmful errors. Blind model labels where practical to reduce expectation bias.
Can my company use DeepSeek, Qwen or another service in Pakistan?
The evidence summarized here does not establish which vendors’ consumer apps, business plans, APIs, payment methods or support channels are currently available to Pakistani businesses. Availability can differ between an app, a business subscription, an API and a third-party host; check the provider’s current official terms for the precise plan, endpoint and contracting entity you would use. The same caution applies to Qwen and other models not directly compared in the cited evaluations.
Before procurement, ask the provider or reseller to confirm the account’s eligibility, payment and tax arrangements, processing regions, rate limits, support escalation path and service-continuity commitments in writing. A model that performs well in a benchmark is not automatically accessible or supportable through your intended route.

Safety depends on the product, account settings, contract, deployment and data being entered—not simply on the model’s country of origin. Do not submit sensitive customer or employee information until your business has reviewed the applicable privacy and contractual terms.
Rank #4
Open-weight availability can give a business more deployment choices, but it does not by itself establish unrestricted commercial rights, easy on-premises operation or that data stays in Pakistan. CAISI describes DeepSeek V4 as open-weight; for any model, inspect the exact license and verify who hosts it, where prompts and outputs are processed, what operational controls exist and who can access the data.
OpenAI’s May 7, 2025 announcement said its Asia data-residency expansion covered Japan, India, Singapore and South Korea, and that API and ChatGPT business data was not used for training by default unless the customer opted in. Those are provider statements tied to the products and date of that announcement. Pakistan was not among the four locations listed, and the announcement does not establish residency in Pakistan or the terms for other providers. Check current eligibility and detailed terms for the specific product before relying on any residency or training claim.
How should a Pakistani business run a fair pilot?
- Choose low-risk, real tasks. Select a small set of representative cases, such as support replies, product copy, document lookup or spreadsheet assistance. Keep sensitive personal, customer and employee data out until privacy and contract review is complete.
- Set the scorecard first. Define correct-answer requirements, unacceptable errors, tone expectations, language handling and when a human must intervene. Include Urdu script, Roman Urdu and English as used in your business.
- Use the same inputs and criteria. Run each candidate on the same prompts and source material, and hide model identities from reviewers where practical. Track successful completion, error types, retries, response time and reviewer effort.
- Calculate workflow cost. Include token or subscription charges, retrieval, hosting, integration, retries and human review. Confirm current pricing, caching rules, minimums, taxes, currency or payment charges, rate limits and any regional-processing fees.
- Review terms and operations before launch. Confirm data use, retention, deletion, processing location, security controls, license, account availability, support and continuity for the precise plan or endpoint. Keep human oversight for material decisions and outputs.
OpenAI’s pricing documentation notes a 10% uplift for eligible regional-processing endpoints for models released on or after March 5, 2026. Check whether that uplift applies to the model and endpoint you intend to use rather than assuming it applies to every account.
