For a 30 g serving, identified as 27 crackers, that label reports 150 calories, 8 g total fat, 1.5 g saturated fat, 200 mg sodium, 18 g carbohydrate, 1 g fiber, 0 g total sugars and 3 g protein. Those figures apply to Cheez-It Original and its stated serving size; they should not be treated as a comparison with Cheese Nips.

Ingredients and dietary considerations
The current Cheez-It Original label declares wheat, milk and soy. Its cheese is dairy-derived, so the official FAQ says Original is not vegan. Check the package for the specific variety you plan to eat: the brand says the cheese used in Cheez-It crackers may vary across its product range, and labels can change.
The Cheese Nips record identifies a cheddar baked snack cracker, but the material available does not provide enough current, detailed label information to assess its allergens or compare its ingredients reliably. Anyone managing an allergy should use the package label for the exact product in hand rather than infer its ingredients from the brand name.

What is known about their history—and the recall?
Cheez-It’s official FAQ says the brand launched in 1921. It also says Mars, Incorporated owns Cheez-It as of 2025, following its acquisition of Kellanova. These are brand statements, and ownership can change; the official Cheez-It FAQ provides the brand’s history and product information.
Separately, on November 15, 2019, Mondelēz announced a voluntary U.S. recall of a limited quantity of Cheese Nips 11 oz boxes because small yellow, food-grade plastic pieces from a dough scraper could be present. The FDA notice says the recall applied to specified best-by dates, involved no other Mondelēz products or geographies, and had no reported injuries or illnesses at the time. That was a lot-specific, historical recall. The notice does not say that the incident caused Cheese Nips to leave shelves, and it cannot establish the brand’s present availability.

There is no evidence here from a controlled taste test or an attributable comparison that establishes a flavor or texture winner. Taste is personal, and claims that one is sharper, crunchier or more buttery would need a named source or an actual test to be presented as more than opinion.
If you are choosing based on evidence you can verify now, Cheez-It Original has an official current label to check. If you are looking for Cheese Nips specifically, the dated product record is not enough to confirm whether they are available where you live.
