Yes, Bulkhead has several ways to detect and act on cheating in WARDOGS, but public information does not show whether those systems are containing it. The studio describes a layered approach combining anti-cheat signals, gameplay analysis, player reports and account or device sanctions. It has also acknowledged that cheaters consumed substantial team time around launch. Neither statement establishes how many cheaters are active or how quickly they are removed.
Is there anti-cheat in WARDOGS?
Yes. Bulkhead’s Security and Enforcement Policy, last updated September 7, 2026, says it uses client- and server-side detection, monitors applications running during gameplay, analyzes input and gameplay patterns for anomalies, checks for game or hardware tampering, and considers player reports. The policy applies to play on both official and community servers.
Bulkhead does not publish the details of its detection methods. It explains: “Telling people how we catch them tells cheat developers how to avoid being caught.” That protects operational details from would-be evaders, but it also means players cannot use the policy to independently assess detection coverage or accuracy.
Does WARDOGS use Easy Anti-Cheat?
No. The WARDOGS-specific addendum to the game’s EULA says WARDOGS does not use Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC). That title-specific statement takes precedence over generic EULA language that may describe EAC in connection with other games. Steam’s WARDOGS listing identifies the game as using kernel-level anti-cheat; that label does not, by itself, disclose the complete system or establish how effective it is.

What does the privacy notice say the game collects?
The WARDOGS privacy notice identifies security telemetry that may include hardware information and a generated hardware identifier, running processes, operating-system information, and memory and driver data relating to the running game. It also describes keyboard and mouse input telemetry captured through the Anybrain anti-cheat SDK. The notice says voice chat is not recorded or stored. These disclosures describe categories of data, not the full technical design or a measure of detection performance.
What counts as cheating, and what can happen?
The WARDOGS EULA prohibits a broad range of conduct, including unauthorized software such as aimbots, wallhacks and speed hacks; macros, scripts and botting; unauthorized hardware or modified peripherals intended to manipulate play; deliberate bug exploitation; match manipulation; boosting; and account sharing or multiple accounts used for advantage.
The game-specific terms describe possible enforcement measures including warnings, temporary or permanent account suspensions or bans, multiplayer restrictions, removal from particular servers, community-server restrictions, device or hardware-based restrictions, and measures intended to prevent ban evasion. The terms say actions may be proportionate to the conduct; they do not publish a standard penalty schedule or a guaranteed response time. Players who believe an anti-cheat or enforcement action was mistaken can appeal at [email protected].
How do you report a suspected cheater?
- Use the in-game reporting tool, select the player, and choose the reason for the report.
- Add useful context, especially the server name and approximate time of the incident.
- Submit the report for Bulkhead to review. Reports go to the developers, not just to the server where the match occurred.
Bulkhead’s Player Safety guidance, last updated September 7, 2026, says reports are reviewed alongside other reports, gameplay and anti-cheat data. The studio says most reports are handled within a few days, with serious reports sooner. It usually does not tell the reporting player the outcome because that concerns another player’s personal data.

How community-server bans differ
A community-server operator can kick or ban someone from that operator’s server. That is a local moderation decision, separate from a game-wide action by Bulkhead. Bulkhead’s anti-cheat policy still applies on community servers, so an operator’s action does not replace the studio’s process, and a report to Bulkhead is not the same as asking an operator to remove someone from a particular server.
What has Bulkhead said about cheating at launch?
In a September 26, 2026 post, Bulkhead CEO Joe Brammer wrote, “We have been a bit overwhelmed with the response, and I mean it literally.” He also said it felt as if the team had spent its time “fighting bottom-feeder cheaters and constant DDOS attacks.” GamesRadar reported the remarks. They are a named executive’s account of team workload at that point in the launch, not a count of cheaters or an independent assessment of the anti-cheat system.

Can players tell whether the developers are winning?
The public materials cited here establish that Bulkhead describes multiple detection inputs, accepts reports, and can impose account, multiplayer, server and device-related restrictions. They do not provide a WARDOGS-wide cheating-prevalence figure, detection or ban rate, false-positive rate, or average time from cheating to action. A visible ban notice, player anecdote, sales figure or concurrent-player count cannot fill that gap because none measures those outcomes.
So the best-supported answer is that the developers have active tools and enforcement options, and have said cheating has been a significant workload. Whether those measures are keeping cheating under control remains unquantified in the public information cited here.
