Who can get Internet Essentials?
The program is the lowest-priced listed option, but applicants must meet its eligibility rules. Xfinity’s program terms require applicants to live in an area where Comcast offers service and either participate in a qualifying public assistance program or have household income at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level.

The terms also say applicants must have no outstanding Comcast debt or unreturned equipment less than one year old, and must not have had Xfinity Internet service within the prior 90 days. Proof of eligibility may be required. Examples of qualifying programs listed on the application page include the National School Lunch Program, housing assistance, Medicaid, and SNAP. Check the application and current terms for the full requirements.

- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.

What NOW Internet includes—and what it requires
NOW is a prepaid alternative advertised as starting at $30 per month. Xfinity says taxes and fees and WiFi equipment are included, with no annual contract and the flexibility to pause and resume service. Its page also describes speed tiers up to 200 Mbps, with upstream figures varying by tier; actual speeds are not guaranteed.
The trade-off is how the service is set up and paid for: the offer requires self-installation and activation of a refurbished gateway, online card payment, autopay, and paperless billing. Availability is limited, so check the address-specific offer and its current terms.

How to compare the actual cost
- Check eligibility first. If your household does not meet Internet Essentials rules, its lower monthly price is not an available option.
- Compare the full monthly amount. NOW advertises taxes and fees included. For another Xfinity plan, use the address-specific quote and confirm what is included, along with any setup or installation charge that applies.
- Match speed to household use. Internet Essentials lists speeds up to 75 or 100 Mbps; NOW lists tiers up to 200 Mbps. “Up to” is not a promise of sustained real-world speed: Xfinity says actual speeds vary and are not guaranteed.
- Account for equipment and installation. NOW advertises WiFi equipment but requires customer self-installation and activation of its refurbished gateway. Internet Essentials materials describe equipment delivery or pickup and say professional installation costs extra.
- Check payment and flexibility terms. NOW has no annual contract and offers pause/resume flexibility, but requires autopay, paperless billing, and online card payment.
How to check your Xfinity price
- Open Xfinity’s internet service page or the relevant Internet Essentials or NOW page.
- Enter your service address when prompted to confirm availability and view the offers currently shown for that location.
- If considering Internet Essentials, review the program terms and use the application page to assess eligibility.
- Before ordering, compare the displayed monthly amount, speed tier, equipment, installation requirements, and payment terms. The reviewed official pages do not establish a universal price for standard postpaid plans.
Why your price may differ
Xfinity’s standard internet plans do not have one universal price in the reviewed materials. The price and availability depend on the service address, and program eligibility determines whether Internet Essentials can be ordered. Xfinity also says it may modify Internet Essentials prices, features, speeds, and covered services. Treat the figures above as current page listings reviewed October 7, 2026, rather than a guarantee that the same offer will be available later or at your address.
