Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsHostinger Premium is the lowest-priced of the three plans compared here if you can pay $143.52 upfront for 48 months: its US pricing page showed $2.99 per month equivalent, followed by renewal at $10.99 per month. Bluehost Starter is another WordPress.org-listed option, with a 36-month introductory term and a lower stated renewal rate, but fewer listed storage gigabytes. Neither is automatically the best choice: compare the full prepaid bill, renewal, backup schedule and features you actually need. What makes cheap WordPress hosting “actually good”?
A low introductory rate is useful only if the plan supports current WordPress software, provides the features your site needs, and remains affordable when the promotion ends. WordPress.org recommends a host support PHP 8.3 or newer, MariaDB 10.11 or newer or MySQL 8.0 or newer, and HTTPS. It recommends Apache or Nginx as robust, featureful server options. WordPress can still run on older PHP 7.4+ and MySQL 5.5.5+ environments, but those versions are end-of-life and may expose a site to security vulnerabilities. See the WordPress.org requirements.

Before buying, ask the host which versions your account will use and how PHP applications are isolated. WordPress.org notes that hosting is more secure when PHP applications such as WordPress run under your account’s username rather than a server’s default shared username.
Compare the actual introductory commitment and renewal

#1 Best Overall
| Plan | Introductory price and term | Renewal shown | Listed features |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hostinger Premium | $2.99/month equivalent for 48 months prepaid; $143.52 total | $10.99/month | 3 websites; 20 GB SSD storage; weekly backups; domain free for 1 year |
| Hostinger Unlimited | $3.99/month equivalent for 48 months prepaid; $191.52 total | $16.99/month | Unlimited websites; 50 GB NVMe storage; daily backups; domain free for 1 year |
| Bluehost Starter | $3.99/month for a 36-month term | $9.99/month | 10 websites; 10 GB NVMe storage; free domain for the first year; free SSL; weekly backups shown on the plan page |
Hostinger says its plans are paid upfront and that the displayed monthly figure is the total plan price divided by the number of months. Treat its $2.99 and $3.99 figures as monthly equivalents for a four-year prepayment, not month-to-month prices. See Hostinger’s pricing page. The listed Bluehost Starter figure is for a 36-month term; confirm the total due at checkout and the features attached to that offer on Bluehost’s plan page.
Bluehost’s renewal page lists Managed WordPress Starter at $9.99/month for a 36-month renewal term and warns that prices can change. The pricing page and renewal page may describe different offer details; check the Renewal Center in your account for the applicable renewal amount before purchase. See Bluehost’s renewal pricing information.

Which of these plans fits your site?
Hostinger Premium: one or a few small sites, with a long prepayment
Premium offers the lowest introductory monthly equivalent among these examples, but requires $143.52 upfront for 48 months and renews at $10.99/month. Its listed three-site limit, 20 GB SSD storage and weekly backups suit a small portfolio or a few modest sites if weekly backup frequency is enough. The included domain is free for the first year, not the full hosting term.
Crashes, No Sound, or Screen Glitches?

For $48 more over the same 48-month introductory term than Premium, the snapshot lists unlimited websites, 50 GB NVMe storage and daily backups. The renewal is also higher, at $16.99/month. Choose it only if the added site allowance, storage or daily backup schedule matters enough to justify both the larger upfront payment and the ongoing cost. “Unlimited” describes the listed website allowance; it does not establish unlimited storage or server resources.

Bluehost Starter: shorter introductory term and lower stated renewal
Starter’s 36-month term is shorter than Hostinger’s four-year offers, and its listed $9.99/month renewal is below the Hostinger renewal figures shown here. It lists 10 websites, 10 GB NVMe, a first-year domain, SSL and weekly backups. Bluehost’s pricing page says phone support is not included on this plan. Confirm support channels and current plan inclusions at checkout.
Check the features that are easy to overlook
- Backups and restores: These snapshots list weekly backups on Hostinger Premium and Bluehost Starter, and daily backups on Hostinger Unlimited. The pages summarized here do not establish restore access details, retention periods or whether restores cost extra; ask before relying on a backup as your recovery plan.
- Email: The compared plan details do not establish whether email hosting is included. If you need mailboxes on your domain, confirm availability, limits and any separate price.
- Domain: Hostinger’s compared plans list a domain free for one year; Bluehost Starter lists a free domain for the first year. Check the domain’s renewal price and whether the exact extension you want qualifies.
- SSL and CDN: Bluehost Starter lists free SSL. The compared snapshots do not establish a CDN inclusion for these plans; verify what is bundled rather than assuming it is.
- Resource limits and support: Website counts and storage figures do not tell you how CPU, memory, traffic or support scale as a site grows. For a store or busier site, ask for the plan’s resource limits and support scope, and avoid treating vendor traffic estimates as capacity guarantees.
How much weight should you give the WordPress.org hosting directory?
WordPress.org’s hosting page lists both Bluehost and Hostinger, which is a useful signal that they are established WordPress-oriented providers, not proof that every plan suits every site. The directory says its listing is “completely arbitrary” and describes criteria that include WordPress.org contributions, customer base, ease of automatic install and updates, GPL compliance, design and up-to-date system software. It is not an independent lab ranking or a guarantee of price, performance or support for a specific account. See the WordPress.org hosting directory.

A practical way to choose before checkout
- Set your site count and needs. Decide how many WordPress installs you will host and whether daily backups, domain email or phone support are essential.
- Compare term totals, not just monthly equivalents. Record the upfront amount and commitment length alongside the renewal rate and renewal term. A low advertised monthly figure can require years of prepayment.
- Confirm technical requirements. Ask whether the account supports PHP 8.3 or newer, MariaDB 10.11 or newer or MySQL 8.0 or newer, HTTPS, and how PHP applications are isolated.
- Inspect the live checkout and account terms. Verify taxes, domain terms, backup and restore details, resource limits, support channels and renewal pricing for your country and signup route. For Bluehost, also check the account’s Renewal Center.
For additional context, TechRadar’s 2026 comparison says SiteGround costs more than Bluehost and Hostinger in its compared plans while bundling email and backups. It also cautions that Bluehost’s advertised supported-visit figures are difficult to corroborate and may apply to basic sites. Those are TechRadar’s comparisons, not a controlled performance test or a capacity guarantee. See TechRadar’s 2026 WordPress hosting comparison.
