Correction: Rokid Glasses did not use micro-OLED displays. At CES 2025, Rokid showed two different products: the camera-equipped Rokid Glasses, later specified as using a Micro-LED waveguide display, and the Rokid Max 2, whose Sony micro-OLED panels powered the separate Rokid AR Spatial system.
What Rokid actually showed at CES 2025
Rokid’s CES lineup combined an AI-first pair of smart glasses with a display-first spatial-computing system. The company’s retrospective separates the products clearly: Rokid Glasses provide camera-based assistance and see-through overlays, while Rokid AR Spatial combines Max 2 glasses with a Station 2 computing hub.
| Feature | Rokid Glasses | Rokid Max 2 / AR Spatial |
|---|---|---|
| Primary role | AI smart glasses with visual overlays | Large virtual display and spatial computing |
| Display description | Micro-LED waveguide, according to Rokid’s launch material | Sony micro-OLED |
| Weight | 49 grams, according to Rokid | Not stated in the cited CES material; do not apply the 49-gram figure |
| Camera | 12-megapixel first-person camera | Do not assume the same camera feature set |
| Typical uses | Translation, navigation, notifications, transcription and object recognition | Gaming, video, multitasking and virtual-monitor work |
| Computing arrangement | AI glasses that rely on supporting devices and services | Max 2 paired with Station 2 |
The distinction matters because “Rokid Glasses” and “Rokid AR Spatial” were discussed together at CES, making it easy to attach the Max 2’s micro-OLED specification to the wrong product.
Did Rokid Glasses use micro-OLED?
No. Rokid initially described the standalone glasses as having an integrated waveguide AR display, then identified that display technology as Micro-LED in its launch announcement. The company associates micro-OLED with the Max 2 instead. See Rokid’s Rokid Glasses launch announcement and its CES 2025 retrospective.

Micro-LED waveguide versus micro-OLED
Rokid Glasses: Micro-LED in a waveguide
A waveguide injects light into an optical element that directs an image toward the eye. Because the optical path remains see-through, this architecture is intended for small overlays: translated subtitles, directions, notifications, prompts or contextual information. It is not the same visual experience as watching a large opaque cinema-style screen.
Rokid says the glasses weigh 49 grams and include a 12-megapixel first-person camera, integrated audio and support for customizable lenses for nearsightedness and astigmatism. Announced functions include real-time translation, object recognition, meeting transcription, navigation, teleprompter-style prompts and notifications. Availability of individual AI functions can depend on internet access, account status, language, region and software version.
Max 2: Sony micro-OLED for a virtual screen
Micro-OLED panels are used in the Max 2’s display-focused design. Rokid says the glasses can produce a virtual screen equivalent to up to 300 inches, with 100,000:1 contrast and brightness of up to 600 nits. Those are manufacturer specifications and a perceived or equivalent screen-size claim, not a physical 300-inch panel or an independently measured test.
In AR Spatial, the Max 2 works with Station 2, an Android-compatible computing hub. The package is aimed at a large personal display for gaming, movies, remote collaboration, field work and multitasking rather than primarily voice-led assistance.
Rank #2
- 3-Screen Multitasking: Rokid AR Spatial features a unique 3-screen display, allowing simultaneous use of 3 apps for boosted productivity, gaming, or immersive entertainment.Note: When connecting with Android phones, the 3-screen display is only supported via DLNA protocol (Miracast and ChromeCast connections are limited to single-screen mode).
- 4 Smart Modes + 3 Screen Sizes: Switch between Reading, Giant Screen, Sports, and Multi-Screen modes, each adjustable to Wide (16:9), Narrow (3:4), or Ultra-Wide (21:9) ratios(Some apps,e.g., File Assistant, don`t support). In Giant Screen Mode, the aspect ratio can expand up to 32:9, delivering a more immersive viewing experience for movies and videos.
- 3DoF (Three Degrees of Freedom) Functionality: Giant Screen Mode and Multi-Screen Mode support 3DoF, allowing the display to remain fixed in space without following head movements. Sports Mode and Reading Mode only support 0DoF, meaning the screen moves along with your head. (Is a versatile AR solution for work and play)
- Myopia & IPD Adjustment: Supports up to 600 degrees(currently, astigmatism is not supported). Effortlessly fine-tune the adjustment dials on top of the glasses to achieve optimal comfort and clarity, elevating your movie and gaming adventures to a new level. Users with myopia greater than 600° will need to purchase separate prescription lenses. Auto IPD adjustment (55–72mm) when paired with Station2.
- Cinematic Visuals: Max2 AR glasses boast a 50% larger Micro OLED display vs. Max, with 1920×1200 resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, 600 nits brightness, and 108% sRGB for vivid, lag-free visuals. (Causes enhanced immersion in movies/games)
How the two products differ in everyday use
Choose Rokid Glasses for information at a glance
- Hands-free translation and contextual AI assistance.
- Camera and audio for first-person capture and voice interaction.
- See-through subtitles, directions, notifications and prompts.
- A lightweight, conventional smart-glasses format that complements a phone.
They are closer to AI smart glasses with a limited information display than to a wearable monitor.
Choose Max 2 / AR Spatial for a large personal screen
- Movies, gaming and other video viewed on a virtual display.
- Virtual-monitor or multi-window workflows.
- Higher-contrast viewing associated with micro-OLED panels.
- A separate Station 2 hub for spatial or multitasking use.
Micro-OLED is not automatically “better” in every situation. It suits a virtual-screen experience, while a Micro-LED waveguide is designed to keep the real world visible while placing limited information in view. Brightness numbers from the two products should not be compared without the same measurement method, optical efficiency and viewing conditions.

Camera, privacy and safety
Rokid Glasses’ camera can capture a wearer’s first-person view and support recognition and transcription. Camera-equipped glasses can make bystanders uncomfortable or create legal issues under local recording and privacy rules. Check recording indicators, obtain consent where required, and avoid using the glasses as a substitute for road signs, a human interpreter or ordinary navigation judgment. The cited material does not establish that any model is suitable for driving or other safety-critical activity.
Prescription lenses
Rokid says customizable lenses are supported for nearsightedness and astigmatism. Prescription ranges, fitting procedures, fees and service coverage can vary by market, so confirm those details before ordering.

CES demonstration versus retail product
CES coverage describes what Rokid unveiled and demonstrated. A booth demonstration does not prove that every shown feature was immediately shipping in January 2025. Software support, language coverage, accessories, regional approvals and service terms may differ between the announcement and a later retail unit.
Availability and pricing
Rokid’s global site displayed a $499 price signal for Rokid Glasses when checked in August 2026; treat that as a dated site listing rather than a universal delivered price. Market, stock, taxes, shipping, accessories and AI-service terms can change. Check the Rokid global store for the destination country at checkout.
Rokid’s AR Spatial launch article listed the Max 2 plus Station 2 at $648 and described a launch promotion at $598. That promotion is historical, not a current-price guarantee. See the AR Spatial launch article for the original terms.

Bottom line for buyers
Rokid’s CES 2025 story was a two-track lineup, not one pair of micro-OLED “Rokid Glasses.” The standalone Rokid Glasses are lightweight, camera-equipped AI glasses using a Micro-LED waveguide display for see-through information. The Sony micro-OLED display belongs to the Max 2, which is part of the display-focused AR Spatial system with Station 2. Decide first whether you need AI assistance and overlays or a large virtual screen; then compare the corresponding product.
