What an India-based subscriber should verify
The reviewed Castr pricing information does not establish the final amount charged to an Indian customer, whether checkout bills in USD or INR, whether GST or other taxes apply, which payment methods are accepted for an India billing address, or whether the bank adds a foreign-exchange fee. Check the checkout total or confirm these details with Castr rather than treating a currency conversion as the final price.

Can Castr keep a YouTube stream running 24/7?
Castr’s Help Center article “Livestream 24/7 With Castr,” by Govinda Sunil and dated December 1, 2022, says: “Castr supports unlimited live streaming duration for your events as long as your subscription is active and has enough streaming bandwidth.” This is a conditional service-duration statement, not a guarantee that an encoder, connection, YouTube channel, or individual broadcast cannot fail. For a continuous stream, do not choose a plan based only on its stream count or destination limit. Estimate the bandwidth your stream and viewers are likely to use, then compare that estimate with the allowance and depletion behavior for the billing period you choose.

What happens when bandwidth runs out
Castr’s Help Center article dated March 18, 2026, says usage can exceed the allowance with higher bitrate, more viewers, or longer duration. It says Starter and Standard streams are automatically disabled when allocated bandwidth is exhausted, while Premium and higher activate overage protection. The cited article does not, by itself, establish the precise cost or operating terms of that protection; check the current terms before relying on it for an uninterrupted broadcast. How to choose a Castr plan
Match the plan to the stream’s likely bandwidth use, number of simultaneous streams, and destination needs. If you send only to YouTube, a larger destination allowance may not help; your audience and stream settings can still affect bandwidth usage.

- Starter or Standard: Lower monthly cost, but Castr says streams are automatically disabled if the allocated bandwidth is exhausted. These tiers may suit a lower-usage setup only if your estimated use fits the allowance.
- Premium: Provides a larger listed allowance and overage protection. It may be relevant when expected use is higher, but the published plan figures alone cannot determine whether it is right for your bitrate, audience, and workflow.
- Ultra or Events: Offer higher listed bandwidth and stream or destination allocations. Those limits are useful only if your actual workflow needs them; they are not a universal recommendation for one YouTube channel.
Annual billing lowers the displayed monthly equivalent but requires the listed annual payment upfront and supplies bandwidth as an annual pool. Compare that commitment with monthly billing and your expected usage, rather than assuming the monthly and annual allowances work identically.
Sending a stream to YouTube with Castr
Castr lists YouTube as a destination. Its setup guidance says to select a hosting region near the broadcast source for better ingest quality, then connect a destination by linking an account or supplying the platform server and stream key. The source determines whether you need an encoder. Castr’s introduction says an encoder may be required for an external camera or camcorder and names OBS, Streamlabs OBS, XSplit, vMix, and Wirecast as software encoder options. Some webcam, screen, mobile, tablet, and prerecorded-video workflows do not require an encoder, according to that guide. Castr also describes cloud playout for scheduling uploaded videos, recordings, and live streams into a continuous channel; confirm that the specific playout workflow you need has the bandwidth and feature limits you expect.
