What Zaylo V2 says it does
Zaylo’s stated aim is to run AI workloads on hardware you already own instead of relying entirely on external infrastructure. The announcement frames an older laptop, workstation or PC as a possible host if it has sufficient CPU, RAM or GPU resources. It does not define “sufficient,” so that description is not a compatibility promise.

What the three V2 additions mean
RAG support
Retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) lets an AI system draw on a user’s own data or knowledge sources when responding. The announcement says V2 supports RAG, but does not specify supported data sources, indexing methods, configuration steps or limitations.

Vision-model support
The project says V2 supports models capable of vision and multimodal workloads. That indicates an expansion beyond text-only use cases, but the announcement does not name supported models or formats, explain image-input handling, or give hardware requirements for vision workloads.
Process auto-recovery
Auto-recovery is intended to make long-running local AI processes more resilient after an interruption or failure. The announcement does not explain what failures it detects, how recovery works, or whether work in progress is preserved.

What to verify before deploying it
The announcement does not provide enough technical detail to decide whether Zaylo will run on a specific computer or meet a particular workload’s needs. Check the current project documentation before installing it or buying hardware.

- Runtime and model compatibility: Look for named inference runtimes, supported model formats and any restrictions on text, vision or multimodal models.
- Hardware requirements: Find minimum and recommended CPU, RAM and GPU specifications, including any model-specific guidance. The announcement gives no numeric thresholds.
- Setup and operation: Verify installation steps, network or API options, and how the software starts, stops and recovers processes.
- Data handling: Check where prompts, source documents, indexes and outputs are stored, and whether any part of a workflow contacts external services. Running workloads locally does not, by itself, establish that every part of an installation is private or offline.
What the announcement does not establish
- It gives no benchmark, speed estimate, model-size guidance or performance guarantee.
- It names no supported operating systems, inference runtimes or model formats.
- It does not specify minimum hardware, compatible components or a required upgrade.
- It does not establish that all processing stays on the user’s machine or make a privacy guarantee.
Those details need to come from current project documentation; they cannot be inferred from the three feature descriptions.
