Outdated Drivers Are Slowing You Down

A free scan shows the junk files, broken settings and background clutter dragging Windows down - then fixes them in one click.Free scan · Windows 10 & 11Yes—but “multilingual” is not a guarantee that every part of your app will appear correctly in another language. Several major low-code platforms document tools for translating app content, but you still need to confirm which resources are covered, how the language is selected, what users see when a translation is missing, and whether the workflow fits your app type and platform version.
What does multilingual support need to cover?
A second language touches more than button labels. A screen can look translated while validation errors, workflow instructions, static data, or system messages remain in the original language. Before choosing a platform—or expanding an existing app—make an inventory of the text users can encounter.

- Interface text: titles, labels, buttons, menus, grid columns, and empty states.
- Messages and workflows: validation and confirmation messages, error text, and human-activity instructions.
- Data presented as text: static entities, catalog values, and other content stored as data rather than as a screen label.
- System and operational behavior: how language is selected, how it changes during a session, and what happens when a requested language or individual translation is unavailable.
The documented coverage differs by platform. Mendix identifies items such as button captions, grid columns, labels, menu items, microflow messages, and text as translatable resources in its Language Menu documentation. OutSystems lists screen titles and text, expression literals, human-activity instructions, validation and confirmation messages, empty states, and static entities in its multilingual app guidance. Use each platform’s resource list as a starting point, then check the actual app for text stored outside those categories.
How do the documented platform approaches differ?
These examples show that multilingual workflows exist; they are not a like-for-like ranking or proof that all low-code platforms behave the same way.

| Platform and documented scope | Translation workflow | Language selection and fallback | Important qualification |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mendix App content |
Set a default language, add app languages, and translate or export app content. See Mendix app translation. | Language can be associated with a user; for anonymous users, browser or operating-system preferences can be used. If the requested language is not configured, the app uses its default language. See the Language Menu documentation. | Verify which resources in your app are covered and test the default-language behavior. |
| Microsoft Power Apps Canvas app example |
A documented pattern uses a translation component backed by a table of translations. The article describes sending exported solution files to a linguistic expert, translation agency, or localization firm. See Microsoft’s canvas app guidance. | The cited canvas-app article does not establish a general selection or fallback behavior for every app. | The article’s translation-component approach used canvas app components that were marked public preview in its March 2, 2023 update. Check the current status before relying on it. Separately, Dataverse documentation describes multilingual solution labels; that is a distinct workflow, not the same feature as the canvas-app component example. |
| OutSystems 11 Reactive web and mobile apps |
Add locales and translate app resources in Service Studio. See OutSystems’ translation workflow. | The current language code is bound to the user session. The documented approach includes a default language code and a language switcher or automatic language change. | The documentation scopes the described feature to Platform Server 11.12.0 or later and an up-to-date Service Studio. Confirm the requirements for your deployment and app type in current documentation. |
How should the app choose a language?
There is no universal rule. A platform may use a language on the user’s profile, a browser or device preference, or the current session. That choice affects first-time and anonymous visitors as well as returning users.
Mendix documents using a user-associated language or, for anonymous users, browser or operating-system preferences; an unconfigured requested language falls back to the app’s default. OutSystems documents a current language code in the user session and a default language code. Microsoft’s cited canvas-app example does not establish a universal fallback rule, so treat selection and fallback as behavior to define and test—not as an automatic consequence of adding translations.
How can you test whether a second language is ready?
Test a representative app in the target platform, app type, and deployment version. Include real translations and exercise the paths users take, rather than checking only that a language option appears.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →- Configure a supported language. Add it through the platform’s documented translation workflow and open the app as a user whose language is set to it.
- Check the full text inventory. Review interface labels, validation and error messages, workflow instructions, empty states, and translated static data.
- Use a long translated label. Check whether it wraps or truncates in buttons, menus, grids, and small-screen layouts.
- Change language during a session. Confirm when the change takes effect and whether the app updates the visible content consistently.
- Test an unavailable language. Try an unsupported requested language and verify the behavior. For Mendix, the documented fallback is the app’s default language when the requested language is not configured.
- Check translation maintenance. Verify how resources are exported and imported, and how the team can identify source text that has changed since it was translated.
These checks help reveal gaps that a platform feature label cannot: a translated screen can still contain untranslated messages or data, and a language switch can behave differently from the initial load.

Who owns translation quality and updates?
Low-code tooling can provide a place to manage translated resources, but it does not by itself produce or review reliable translations. Assign responsibility for translation, linguistic review, and updates when the original app changes. Microsoft’s Dataverse guidance describes exporting solution files for handoff to linguistic experts, translation agencies, or localization firms; the specific handoff process depends on the workflow you choose.
Keep translation updates tied to app changes. When a source label, validation rule, or workflow instruction changes, check whether its translations are still present and correct before release. Treat this as ongoing app maintenance, not a one-time setup task.
What the platform examples do not settle
The documented workflows above do not establish every detail of locale formatting, accessibility, right-to-left layout, or data localization across platforms, versions, and app types. OutSystems states in its vendor evaluation guide that it “also supports right-to-left rendering and full support for Unicode.” That is an OutSystems statement; verify the behavior in the specific product version and app you plan to deploy: Does OutSystems Support Internationalization?
For any platform, confirm the current documentation for your exact app type and version, especially when a feature is described as preview or has a release-specific requirement. A platform’s translation workflow is evidence of a capability—not evidence that every screen, locale behavior, or translation is covered automatically.
