Yes, an Android phone can play PC games by streaming them—but that usually does not mean the phone runs the Windows game itself. With Steam Link or Moonlight, a PC runs the game and sends video to your phone; cloud gaming services do the same from a remote system. Installing and running a Windows PC game locally on Android is a separate, game-specific compatibility question, and there is no dependable general rule that a particular phone can do it.
What “run a PC game” means on Android
There are two different setups behind this question. In a streaming setup, the game runs on a host computer or in the cloud. Your phone displays the stream and sends your controls back. In local execution, the phone itself attempts to run the game through third-party compatibility software. Success with streaming does not demonstrate local compatibility.

What hardware does your phone need?
For Steam Link
Valve says its Android app supports many phones, tablets, and TVs running Android 5.0 or newer. It lists a computer running Steam and a 5 GHz wireless router among its equipment requirements or recommendations. Android 5.0 is a Steam Link app threshold, not a minimum specification for running Windows games on a phone. Check Valve’s current device and setup guidance for your configuration.

For Moonlight or cloud streaming
The host—not the phone—must run the game. The phone receives and decodes video and sends player input. A more capable client or a better network may improve the streaming experience, but no universal phone CPU, RAM, or GPU minimum is established for all streamed games. Moonlight specifically notes that results vary with client hardware and network setup.
For local execution
A phone’s processor, graphics hardware, and memory matter only alongside compatibility with the particular game and software. A fast chipset or extra RAM alone does not turn Android into Windows or make a Windows game a native Android app. Before relying on local play, look for current evidence for the exact game, phone chipset, and software version; one successful title or device is not a general compatibility guarantee.

Does the PC game install on your phone?
Not when you use Steam Link, Moonlight, or cloud streaming: the game runs on the PC or remote cloud system, while the phone receives its stream. The phone still needs the streaming app and network access, but the game itself is not installed there as a full PC title. The cited product information does not establish a universal amount of phone storage required for streaming.
Local compatibility software is a different case, and storage needs depend on the particular setup. No reliable general storage requirement for Windows games running locally through Android compatibility tools is established here. Check the current requirements for the specific software and game rather than assuming the PC game’s listed install size is all the phone needs.

Google’s guidance on storage and compatibility for Google Play Games on PC concerns Android games being adapted to run on Windows PCs. That depends on the game and the way you stream it. Touch controls may not suit a game designed for a keyboard and mouse. Moonlight says Android can send mouse, keyboard, and controller input to the PC. Steam Link lists supported controllers, including the Razer Kishi; check the current Steam Link input-device guidance for details. A controller is optional, and it does not make an incompatible game run.

How to choose the right route
- Already have a gaming PC? Check whether it can run the game, then consider Steam Link or Moonlight to stream it to your phone. The PC must remain the game-running host.
- Do not want to use your own PC? Check whether a cloud service supports the game, your region, your Android device, and your account. Availability and terms can change; confirm them with the provider before relying on the service.
- Want the game to run on the phone itself? Treat that as a separate compatibility check. Confirm that the exact title, phone chipset, and software version are documented as working; do not infer compatibility from phone specifications alone.
- Check network and input before committing. Streaming depends on the network, and the game’s control scheme must be usable with your chosen touch, controller, mouse, or keyboard setup.
