No—not for supported setup or tracking. Samsung Galaxy SmartTags are designed for Samsung’s Galaxy and SmartThings Find ecosystem, and Samsung says iOS devices are not supported for SmartTag functions. Installing SmartThings on an iPhone does not make it a supported SmartTag tracker.
Why Samsung SmartTags do not work with iPhone
Samsung’s SmartThings Find support page says the finding service is supported only on Android devices. Samsung’s SmartTag and SmartTag+ support guidance also says iOS devices are not supported for the described tag functions.

SmartTag2 follows the same Samsung ecosystem model: Samsung says registration requires a Samsung account and SmartThings Find registration. Its 2023 product announcement describes the tag in conjunction with SmartThings Find and Galaxy-device requirements. This is not an iPhone setup route.

What to use instead with an iPhone
| Tracker option | iPhone support | How it works |
|---|---|---|
| Samsung Galaxy SmartTag or SmartTag2 | No supported SmartTag setup and tracking on iOS | Uses Samsung’s Galaxy and SmartThings Find ecosystem, according to Samsung support guidance. |
| Apple AirTag | Yes | Set it up with an iPhone and find it in Apple’s Find My app. Apple’s AirTag setup guidance and setup instructions describe the process; the support page specifies iOS or iPadOS 14.5 or later for setup. Check Apple’s current requirements for your device and software. |
| Third-party Find My accessory | Some models | Apple supports certain third-party items in Find My. Check that the exact product is listed as compatible with Apple’s Find My network using Apple’s third-party item instructions; not every Bluetooth tracker qualifies. |
How to choose an iPhone-compatible tracker
- Choose the finding ecosystem first. For an iPhone, look for Apple Find My support rather than assuming a tracker works across phone platforms.
- Check the exact model. For a third-party accessory, verify that its product listing names Apple’s Find My network. Compatibility is model-specific.
- Follow the manufacturer’s supported setup requirements. AirTag setup uses an iPhone and an Apple Account; Apple specifies iOS or iPadOS 14.5 or later in its support guidance.
AirTag and a compatible Find My accessory are alternatives, not adapters: neither makes a Samsung SmartTag appear in Apple Find My or enables iPhone tracking through Samsung SmartThings Find.
