Yes. AirPods connect to Android phones over Bluetooth and can be used to listen to audio and speak on calls. Apple says Siri is unavailable when AirPods are connected to a non-Apple device, and its general pairing guide does not promise that every feature works the same way on Android.
How to pair AirPods with an Android phone
- Open Bluetooth settings: On your Android phone, turn Bluetooth on and open the list of available devices. Android’s general instructions are in Google’s guide to connecting Bluetooth devices.
- Put your AirPods into pairing mode: The gesture depends on the model. AirPods 1, 2, or 3 and AirPods Pro 1 or 2 use the setup button on the case. AirPods 4 and AirPods Pro 3 use a double tap on the front of the open case. AirPods Max use the listening-mode button. Where applicable, wait for the status light to flash white. Apple lists the model-specific steps in its guide to connecting AirPods to non-Apple devices.
- Select the AirPods: Tap their name when it appears in the Android Bluetooth device list and complete any on-screen prompt.
If the controls on your case differ from these descriptions, use Apple’s instructions for your exact model; pairing gestures vary by generation.

Are AirPods a good choice for Android?
AirPods may suit you if your priority is wireless listening and calls and you are comfortable pairing them through Bluetooth. They are less compelling if you specifically need Siri or are choosing earbuds for tightly integrated Android app controls.

If a companion app designed for Android is important, Galaxy Buds are one alternative category to consider: Samsung says its Galaxy Wearable app provides fuller control for the Galaxy Buds models it lists on Android. That information does not establish that Galaxy Buds sound better, cost less, or offer better overall value than AirPods.
